In an effort to increase our digital accessibility, we have launched a VIRTUAL version of our 19+ LGBTQ+ Support Group! This virtual group is a no cost supportive space for LGBTQ+ adults to explore the intersections of mental health and identity through shared lived experience. 💬💖
🛑 This is a peer-facilitated group — it is not therapy.
🗓️ When? Every 1st & 3rd Wednesday, Monthly (Starting in January!) | 6:00–7:30 PM. We will have 2 virtual offerings on 11/19 and 12/17 to accommodate holidays.
💻 Where? VIRTUAL!

📌 IMPORTANT NOTES:
⏰ Group starts at 6PM — please be on time to honor the group process.
✔️ Registration is required for each session. The registration link refreshes each session, and registration opens the Thursday before the next group at 6pm

Mental health cannot sustain without nutrition.

- The brain consumes 20-40% of the nutrients we eat.
- Carbs play a role in serotonin production and low levels can result in sleep problems, depression, mood instability, and irritability.
- 40% of American households are one paycheck away from the socioeconomic status poor.
- 59% are one paycheck away from homelessness.

Mental health starts with nutrition. We cannot heal if we don't know when, where, or if the next meal will come.

Everyone deserves to eat. Therefore, we've created a small Pantry where you can leave what you can and take what you need, as long as our main door is unlocked (which is not 24/7 and only when a therapist is in office). There are no prerequisites or strings attached. It is also great way for others to give back in small ways. Located behind the wall with the square opening to reduce tempting curious toddlers.

For the Lancaster folks!

The ACLU of Nebraska and OutNebraska are happy to announce that we are hosting another FREE Legal Name Change Clinic for adult LGBTQ+ Nebraskans who are residents of Lancaster County on September 16, 2025. Thanks to Nebraska Civic Engagement Table for additional support!

Services provided through the clinic include meeting one-on-one with an attorney who will facilitate the name change process, draft necessary documents, and provide legal representation for notice of publication and name change hearing.

Our Free Legal Name Change Clinic registration is NOW OPEN at https://bit.ly/2025NameChangeClinicReg.

Spots are limited and may be filled quickly, so we recommend to anyone interested that they register soon. We do not accept walk-ins.

Things to Know Before Registering!
- You must be at least 19 years old to register.

Registration open: Free name change clinic on Saturday, August 23 with Legal Aid of Nebraska and Omaha ForUs

During the clinic, participants will meet with an attorney who will complete their name change paperwork. This clinic allows participants to complete each step of the legal name change process, including filing and publication.

When: Saturday, August 23, 10:00 am to 12 noon

Where: Omaha for Us Community Center, 3337 N. 107th Street, Omaha, NE 68134

Who is eligible: This event is open for all 19+ residents of Douglas County. The maximum capacity for this clinic is 50 people.
