Meet one of our FreshZest finalists!

“Fresh Tomatoes and Basil Summer Pasta” is a light, simple recipe that lets fresh ingredients do the work. Submitted by Anne Dach, this dish combines ripe tomatoes, basil, garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and pasta for a meal that feels fresh, easy, and perfect for warm weather.

The tomato and basil mixture is made ahead and chilled, then spooned over hot pasta and finished with fresh grated parmesan cheese. It is a great example of a recipe that uses simple ingredients to create something flavorful, balanced, and very fitting for the FreshZest spirit.

The Avocet Bar was the place to be for our Super Bowl watch party, packed with residents settling in early, grabbing a plate, and picking their Super Bowl Boxes before kickoff! With burgers, hot dogs, and wings making the rounds, the game stayed on, the scores were checked often, and the cheering came in waves all night.

It's been a very happy holiday season at Avocet Playa Vista! 🎄

This December has been so joyful. We loved visiting the Mar Vista Family Center for story time and browsing the local market boutique for holiday shopping. Back at home, we enjoyed a beautiful musical recital and got creative for the SRG Senior Living company-wide holiday door decorating contest. We hope your day is filled with joy from those you love! 🎅❤️

There is so much to be thankful for at Avocet Playa Vista. 💛🍁

Last month, we loved hosting a special Thanksgiving dinner where residents could celebrate with their families. The room was filled with delicious food AND the warmth of being together. It was a beautiful reminder of how important family and community are to us all!

The Avocet Event Center was filled with music all weekend long! 🎹

We were treated to a full recital from the students of Music Teach LA, bringing a wave of young talent right to our stage. It was a special opportunity for our residents to sit back and support the next generation of musicians.

The group put on a wonderful show, and the applause from the crowd made it clear just how much we enjoyed the performance!

The holiday shopping season is officially underway! Avocet Playa Vista residents visited the annual Temple Beth Am holiday market boutique to hunt for unique gifts and specialties. The group fully embraced the "shop till you drop" mentality and filled their bags with one-of-a-kind finds. 🛍️

It was a productive and very festive outing to kick off the month!🎄
