Therapy Thursday Thoughts

Research shows pain is processed by the nervous system and can persist even after tissues have healed, meaning pain does not always equal ongoing injury. A physical therapist can help guide you.

Why It Works Wednesday

Your physical therapist watches how you sit, stand, bend, or reach when pain is involved. Small changes may help reduce discomfort for some people.
✅ Tip: The goal is comfort, not perfect movement.

💪 There are many different types of physical therapy and the right one makes all the difference.

From orthopedic PT for injuries and joint pain to sports therapy, post-surgical rehab, neurological therapy, and balance & mobility training, each approach is designed to target specific conditions and goals. The key is a personalized plan that restores movement, reduces pain, and helps you get back to doing what you love.

Why It Works Wednesday

Your physical therapist may use hands-on care to help some people move with less stiffness or discomfort. This is often paired with guided movement.
✅ Tip: Hands-on care supports movement, it doesn’t replace it.

The right movement can make a huge difference. Gentle, targeted exercises help reduce stiffness, strengthen support muscles, and improve flexibility, all key to easing back pain. Some of the most effective options include:

✔️ Cat–Cow stretch – boosts spinal mobility
✔️ Knee-to-chest stretch – relieves lower back tension
✔️ Pelvic tilts – strengthens core support
✔️ Bird Dog – improves stability and posture
✔️ Glute bridges – supports the lower back by strengthening hips

⚠️ Always move within a pain-free range and stop if discomfort increases.
