Visual information processing, auditory processing, speech/language development, and phonological awareness/processing are commonly categorized as or assumed to be “Dyslexia.”

Performing vision exams for young children is an area in which we excel. We identify and treat core issues before they disrupt children's learning opportunities and personal growth.

The American Optometric Association recommends that children get their eyes (and we go beyond just the eyes) checked at the following intervals:

• Between 6-12 months old (See InfantSEE® Vision Evaluations, below)
• Age 3 (or when a child begins preschool)
• Age 5 (or when beginning Kindergarten)
• Then once each year from ages 6-18

This past Friday, ACHIEVE Family Vision teamed up with CharityVision for a Sight Buddies charity event. We had volunteers from ACHIEVE and Alpine School District that gave their time and expertise to provide 75 FREE eye exams and glasses to children from the school district who were in need of vision care.

We are so grateful for caring individuals from Sight Buddies and the school nurses/volunteers from Alpine School District that helped make this happen at ACHIEVE Family Vision!

This is just one example of how ACHIEVE is teaming up with professionals, educators, and parent to eradicate addressable learning challenges for Utah students by the year 2035.

We had a great time connecting with OTs, OTAs, and OT students today at the Utah Occupational Therapy Association (UOTA) annual conference this weekend at UVU! Such a great group of people who can make such a big difference in children’s lives.

ACHIEVE is teaming up with professionals, educators, and parents to eradicate addressable learning challenges for Utah students by the year 2035. OTs play a critical role in making this mission a reality!

We look forward to collaboration with OTs, SLPs, Auditory Processing specialist, Neuro-Developmental Optometrists, Mental Health providers, Pediatricians, and Educators as we create a network of like-minded intentional difference makers that create a brighter future for students who struggle with reading and learning.
