Rod Maxfield DDS

Dentistry Making a Difference! He has provided thoughtful, personalized oral health care for over twenty years.

Dr. Maxfield was born and raised in Pleasant Grove and very much enjoys serving patients who come to him from around the corner and across the country. His professional training was accomplished at Creighton School of Dentistry, one of the nation’s top dental programs, in conjunction with the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Maxfield has earned degrees from Utah Valley University, the University of Utah, and Creighton University. He is a member of the ADA and a member and former president of the Utah Academy of General Dentistry. Outside of the office Dr. Maxfield enjoys all things outdoors, and is very involved with church and scouting activities. He has three daughters, two sons, and a wonderful wife, who all keep him very busy attending dance, cheer, soccer, wrestling, baseball, orchestra concerts, and on and on.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT!!!

Kacey is one of our awesome assistants! She has been a member of our team for over 3 years. Before joining our office she was trained in dental assisting at ATS, and has worked in other offices as well.

Kacey is currently attending UVU, with plans to become a radiologist. She loves animals and likes spending time with her cousins.

Kacey always has a smile on her face! She is happy and friendly, and enjoys caring for patients. One of Kacey’s favorite snacks is hot Cheetos and Sodalicious.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT!!!

Robyn is one of our wonderful hygienists! She assisted at our office for several years before taking a break to spend more time with her 3 beautiful kids. Robyn is an active, energetic, & happy person. She makes everyone around her feel valued & loved.

Robyn was trained at Fortis College in Salt Lake City. She enjoys football & boating & loves watching her kids’ sporting events. Something you might not know about Robyn: she prefers spicy snacks over sweets!

Ever wondered what happens during a root canal? This video shows exactly how it’s done!

1. Drills are used to remove decay, & expose the canals.

2. Tiny files are used to remove the pulp (blood supply & nerve) and to clean out the canals.

3. Tiny cones are used to check the canal size(s).

4. These cones are then covered in liquid sealer & placed into the canal. More than 1 may be needed.

5. Posts may be placed for added strength.

6. A temporary filling is placed & cured with a light to harden it.

7. A crown is often needed following a root canal for strength.

8. Over time the abscess at the tip of the root should disappear.
