Spring is in the air, and we are loving the fresh, cheerful energy around the clinic 🌸

Our AAC boards and visual supports grow with the seasons too. Updating them with familiar, meaningful vocabulary helps clients stay engaged and connect what they see to what they want to say 🌼

These small changes make communication more relevant, interactive, and fun, supporting participation in everyday moments ☀️

Because when the environment reflects real life, it becomes easier for clients to explore, express, and communicate with confidence.

Come see how thoughtful setups like this can support your child’s communication journey.

Not sure if your child could benefit from AAC? Here are some signs 💬

Some children may need extra support to communicate their wants and needs, especially if they feel frustrated, have limited words, or understand more than they can express.

AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is a supportive tool that helps children share their thoughts, build confidence, and connect with others 🤍 It works alongside speech, not against it.

Every child communicates differently and that’s okay 🌱

If you’re wondering what support might look like for your child, feel free to reach out or schedule an evaluation with our team 📩

💬 What are core words and why do they matter so much in AAC?

Core words are the power words we use every single day 💙
They’re flexible, meaningful, and can be used across any activity, not just in a single moment.

These small words help build BIG communication 🙌

Parent Tip: Provide multi sensory cues to help elicit speech 👶🗣️✨

Kids learn best when they can see, hear, and feel what they’re trying to say. Instead of just repeating a word, try adding gestures, showing mouth movements, or gently guiding their lips and jaw. These extra cues help your child understand how sounds are made and make it easier for their brain to remember them 💡

Small changes like this can make a big difference in building speech skills over time 💬

Curious how to support your child’s communication at home? Send us a message or book an evaluation today we are here to help 🤝

Parent Tip: Position yourself at or below your child’s eye level 👀

Getting on your child’s level helps them clearly see your facial expressions and mouth movements, which supports speech and language development. It also makes communication feel safer and less overwhelming, encouraging them to interact more.

When you’re in their line of sight, it’s easier to grab their attention and keep them engaged during play and everyday moments 🤍

Small changes like this can make a big difference in how your child connects and communicates 🌱
