Will AAC stop my child from talking?

This is one of the most common concerns we hear from parents — and the research is detailed:
👉 AAC does NOT prevent speech development.

For children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), AAC can actually support both communication and speech progress while they continue working on motor planning for speech. They often know what they want to say — they need support in coordinating the movements to say it. AAC gives them a bridge while speech develops.

💬 Communication is the goal. Speech is one way to get there.
