🌟 Resident Spotlight: Meet Dave Wright! 🌟

My wife, Ida, and I moved here in March. It was a big change after leaving our longtime home, but we quickly found activities that brought us joy. My wife especially loved the bingo games and art classes—they were highlights of her week. I’ve enjoyed the Friday social hour, the musical performances, and the outings to places like the Iowa State Fair and the Military Museum.🥂

Sadly, Ida passed away in July, after more than 68 wonderful, fun, and unforgettable years together. We spent most of our lives in Carlisle, where we owned Wright Chevrolet—a business my father started after returning from the war and that I took over in my twenties.🚐

After her passing, I considered moving back home, but the support I’ve received from the Eden Crest staff has made daily life easier. The friendships I’ve made here have also helped me navigate this new chapter of life without her. I’m grateful to be part of a community that cares.💚🏡

We're so happy to have you as part of the Edencrest family! Here's to many more fun memories made at Edencrest Pleasant Hill.

Meet Jessica Cleghorn, from our Culinary Team!💚✨👩‍🍳

After 35 years in the service industry, Jessica has learned to treasure the quiet magic found in everyday moments—especially the warm, familiar rhythm of serving breakfast and lunch to the residents she’s grown to know so well. Their conversations, sometimes light and sometimes deeply meaningful, feel like small gifts woven into her day, gentle reminders of the connections built through years of genuine care.

At home, her world is even fuller. With three children, four grandchildren, and another on the way, each one brings their own joy and energy into her life. Balancing family and work, Jessica carries a quiet pride, knowing that the kindness she pours into her days makes a difference—both in the home she loves and, in the place, she serves with heart. We are so grateful to have Jessica as a vital part of our team!
