On the last day of Black History Month, I would like to recognize the groundbreaking success of Fundamentals Relaxation Spa, the first African American-owned day spa in Michigan.

Since its inception in 2000, this haven has offered a place of respite and renewal for women of color seeking solace from the stresses of everyday find a place of inner peace and outer beauty. We are more than just a spa desire to be a symbol of courage, hope, resilience and empowerment for our community.
