Vaginal estrogen can be a game changer for so many women! It is sadly under prescribed even though it is a safe and effective treatment for GSM and other conditions. Ask your provider if this treatment would be appropriate for you.

Pilates is so much more than a great workout for your core! There are so many benefits to using Pilates based movements postpartum.
✨focus on breath- during pregnancy your ribcage expands to make space for your growing baby. Using breathwork, you can bring the ribcage back to its ideal position. Addi, breathwork can help with pelvic floor function, nervous system regulation, lowers blood pressure, and more!
✨spinal movement- your spine is meant to move! During pregnancy it becomes harder to move your spine leading to muscle tightness and restrictions. Not to mention all the time spent in static positions to feed and hold your baby after they are born. It’s important to move your spine; flex, extend, rotate and side bend. ✨mind-body connection- your body needs to re-learn how to use muscles that have been used differently for months. The core, hips, and pelvic floor muscles will benefit from focused and deliberate movements of Pilates. ✨posture- our muscles are more efficient when we start with good alignment. Good posture helps create balance and allows muscles to work optimally!

Did you know if you have a hyper-mobility disorder you are more likely to experience:
✨pelvic pain, often in the p***c symphysis or SI joints
✨pelvic organ prolapse
✨stress urinary incontinence
It is recommended that you start PT early with a pelvic health therapist, or even prior to becoming pregnant. These symptoms can often be prevented or managed, do not wait!
I can’t tell you how often I see patients come in during their 3rd trimester with severe pain, inability to perform daily activities or needing to start maternity leave early due to symptoms. Often they were told their symptoms were a normal part of pregnancy. 😡 Pain during pregnancy is NOT normal!!!

Reviews like this make me remember why I do this work. Like many PTs, I was burned out, had lost my passion and considered leaving the profession. I was treating patients, but nat able to give them the care they deserved. Once I left the hospital/insurance system I realized I could focus on my patients and not productivity! Branching out on my own has been hard, but I have zero regrets. ❤️

✨It doesn’t matter how old your kids are, it’s not too late to start pelvic floor PT. But don’t wait any longer, incontinence can impact your physical and mental health if it persists.

✨No, it’s not normal to p*e every time you sneeze, laugh, cough, jump, run, etc.

✨And no, doing a bunch of kegels is not the same thing. A PT can find the cause of your leaking and provide effective and personalized solutions!

Hello! I just wanted to introduce myself to anyone that is new here. I am a pelvic health PT, focused on helping female-bodied folks throughout their life span.
My own experience with pelvic pain and dysfunction led me to specialize in pelvic health. I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2017. The cancer treatments led to my needing physical therapy, and also threw me into early menopause. This completely changed my career trajectory as I saw how important pelvic health and menopause education are!
I hope to continue to educate, share resources and help folks struggling with pelvic floor disorders and menopausal symptoms.
Let’s connect soon!
