Important Notice: Inclement Weather Advisory

Dear Patients,

We hope this message finds you well. We want to inform you that inclement weather is expected in our area in the coming days. Your safety is our priority, and we encourage you to take necessary precautions.

If you have an upcoming appointment, please consider the following:

If conditions are unsafe for travel, don’t hesitate to contact us to reschedule your appointment. We are more than willing to offer you a telehealth visit with your provider in lieu of your in office appointment.

Please check our website or social media for any updates regarding clinic hours or potential closures. For now, we are still opening with a 1 hour delay of 9:00am.

As a reminder: Here are some important safety precautions to take during a winter storm warning:

Stay Informed: Monitor local weather forecasts and updates from reliable sources.

Avoid Travel: If possible, stay home. If you must travel, check road conditions and inform someone of your plans.

Prepare Your Home:

Stock up on essentials: food, water, medications, and first aid supplies.

Ensure you have blankets, flashlights, and batteries in case of power outages.

Keep Your Vehicle Ready:

Fill your gas tank and ensure your vehicle is winter-ready with antifreeze, windshield wiper fluid, and proper tire tread.
Keep an emergency kit in your car, including blankets, snacks, and a flashlight.

Stay Warm:

Dress in layers and use hats and gloves to keep warm.
Avoid using stoves or ovens for heat.

Check on Neighbors: Reach out to elderly or vulnerable neighbors to ensure they are safe and have necessary supplies.

Use Caution with Ice: Watch for slippery surfaces and avoid walking on ice if possible.

Stay safe, prepared and warm. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Best regards,
Regents Medical Center

Friday's in February is National Wear Red Day, a day to raise awareness of heart disease and women's heart health. It's part of American Heart Month, a time to focus on heart health and prevention.

What to do on National Wear Red Day

Wear red to show your support
Encourage others to wear red
Learn how to perform CPR and use an AED

Why is National Wear Red Day important?
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States

Heart disease affects women at high rates, but it's often mistakenly considered a men's issue

By raising awareness, we can help dispel the misconception that heart disease only affects men

Other ways to be heart healthy

Eat a heart-healthy diet
Get enough sleep
Manage stress
Exercise regularly
Limit alcohol, salt, and added sugars
Limit saturated and trans fats
Choose lean meats, nuts, and legumes over red meat and fried
food

Quit smoking

How can we help?

We care. We care how you feel. We care about your health. When I started Regents Medical Center in 2002 I learned very quickly I wasn't able to take care of my community alone. All of us from back in the day know how Pleasant View has grown. It takes a team to provide health care to our town.

We have a great team at Regents! We are ready to help you the best we can.

Thank you for trusting us! Dr. Ray
