For those who haven’t already heard, we now have weight loss classes 6 days a week!
7 days a week if you count our Sunday “walk with your doc” meetings at the park! 😊
If these times don’t work for you, let us know what does and we will try our best to add more times!

We have a few more spots next week open for this!

How about those lips?👄
If you have been thinking about getting filler but just aren’t sure, or if you just want something more subtle that gradually increases over time, PRP lip injections might be for you!
And, good news!! We are having a special right now because we need MODELS!! 🥰
So, for the first 5 that respond to this message and can come in next week on Monday or Friday for an appointment, you can get lips like these for only $150.
That’s over half off!! 🥳🥳

Happy Saturday!
Today at our weight loss class we talked about water (again)!!
We talked about sparkling water and how it can be as good, if not better, than regular water when it comes to weight loss!
We made a new exercise goal for the week. We are going to try adding 50 squats per day to our 50 push up goal!
We briefly talked about intermittent fasting.
What topics would you like to know more about?

Sparkling water has become increasingly popular in recent years. And with good reason. A bit of fizziness — often with a hint of fruit-infused flavor — can help liven the otherwise boring task of hydrating. However, water purists often find that bubbles are a silly affectation, and some even ins...

Thank you to those who have made our weight loss classes possible!
We love it that we are getting the chance to make a difference in healthcare this way and hope it is helpful to you!

We have been thinking of adding an additional evening to our weight loss class schedule!
So, in addition to our Monday night class, we hope to be able to add another class on Thursday evenings!
Let us know if this is something you would be interested in! And, if so, what would be your time preference?

My office got a 1 star review this week.
Here is what I think about that.

1. I hate it. First of all, I often regret putting my name in my business because I think I take reviews like this a lot more personally than I would if I hadn’t. I know how hard I work and I also know how hard my office staff work so it stings a lot. I also hate that we can’t defend ourselves online. Even though none of what our recent reviewer said was true.

2. I try to remember that we can’t please all of the people all of the time. But, most of the time most of the people are happy. They just aren’t the ones posting things online. My business has been open for over 9 years now and just submitted claim # 72,212. I have a handful of bad reviews out there. But, also, over 72,000 times we made people happy (or at least not mad enough to post about it online 😜).

3. The internet had made it so much easier for people to be mean. I see this every day with my patient portal too. I responded to 3 or 4 really nasty messages this week. I probably responded to about 100 “normal” messages but the nasty ones get to me. I think it’s easy for people to forget that there is an actual person on the other end of that message. Sometimes it’s a person who has already worked a really long day or who is in the car working on her laptop every chance she gets in between a busy family schedule to try to keep up with the increasing demands of the medical field.

4. I could do better at supporting other small businesses like mine. Whenever I get a bad review it makes me want to go out of my way to find something good to post about online. A good meal at a restaurant, great customer service at a store, anything. I don’t want to pay the negativity forward. We need more positives in our lives.

5. I need more sleep. ☺️. This has been a long week and things always seem worse when we are tired. Also, tomorrow is a new day and next week is a new week. This week, I have thought a lot about what it would mean to be “semi retired.” I’m tired of missing things in my kids’ lives because of my job. But, I actually know that I’m not ready to give it up yet. I have some really great people that I get to work with and we are going to keep trying to make a difference. We have over 6500 patients, most of whom DO appreciate us. And, THEY are why we do what we do!

I say this all the time! I need my exercise to keep me sane!

All modes of physical activity were effective in improving both anxiety and depression, highlighting the need for using exercise “as a mainstay approach” for managing mental health, according to researchers. Ben Singh, PhD, a research fellow at the University of South Australia’s A...

Yesterday was a good day! Even though roads were icy and we barely had any staff working, we still had a lot of great patient encounters. We even had 6 new patients!
I did have 1 patient who was upset when my nurse called her to follow up on some of her medication. So, I called her later. Basically just to let her yell at me.
I love my staff! I feel so lucky to work with a group of people who work so hard to do the right things day in and day out!
Then I woke up this am and saw this posted on a friend’s FB page. It hit home!
I’m going to do this. Focus on the positive and try to make sure I take care of me too. That way I can continue to do the job I (mostly) love for years to come!

It’s been such a good change in medicine. I hope we never have to stop offering Telehealth as an option!

It’s been such a good change in medicine. I hope we never have to stop offering Telehealth as an option!

The expectation that virtual visits with family physicians would drive more people to hospital emergency departments as a substitute for an in-person appointment didn’t turn out to be true, according to a new study by the Ontario Medical Association.
