Experiencing awe and wonder transforms an experience from being ordinary to extraordinary. Practicing wonder affects not only your sense of well being but your brain begins to secrete dopamine supporting the feeling of joy and increased cognitive functioning. Reduced inflammation and increased immunity đŸŒș

How do I practice wonder you may wonder 🙏

Observer children under the age of 9 and notice what they focus on.

Rather than going over your to do list take time to take in the natural world and delight in the wonder of how it’s so beautiful.

Shift from focusing on problems (this could apply to world events too) and imagine, wonder about the possibilities of what you dream of.

Happy Earth day everyone! Just git back from Mauii and still enjoying the powerful medicine that comes from the island that is nature đŸŒș

This year felt like it took a little longer to unwind from stress than normal. After a few days when I felt more chill it got me thinking about the difference between stress and anxiety. And being aware of what is happening for you is key to feeling better. Knowing if it’s stress or anxiety when you are feeling tense. Here is the difference:

Stress
‱ Cause: Typically linked to a specific, external situation (e.g. a deadline, argument, money trouble).
‱ Duration: Usually temporary—goes away once the stressor is resolved.
‱ Feelings: Overwhelmed, irritable, tense, frustrated.
‱ Body: Muscle tension, headaches, fatigue, trouble sleeping.
‱ Mind: Racing thoughts about the specific situation; motivation might increase (in small doses).

Anxiety
‱ Cause: Often internal, persistent, and not always tied to a clear or immediate trigger.
‱ Duration: Longer-lasting—can persist even after the “stressor” is gone.
‱ Feelings: Constant worry, dread, uneasiness, fear.
‱ Body: Similar to stress—plus restlessness, nausea, heart palpitations.
‱ Mind: “What if?” thinking, catastrophizing, hard to calm down or feel safe even when things seem okay.

One way to differentiate:

Ask yourself, “Is there a specific thing I’m reacting to, and will it likely go away soon?” If yes, it’s probably stress. If the worry feels generalized or sticks around no matter what, it leans more toward anxiety.

Connection is everything. It is the key to happiness. Our relationship with ourselves sets the tone for our ability to connect with others. The work I do with clients opens inner gateways, by digesting what feels stuck or painful opens the doors deeper connection and knowingness of what you are made of. For some people they move through the pain and arrive in bliss others it’s a watery love, for some it’s a sense of deep peace they have always longed for. The pain could be chronic physical pain, or depression, trauma or feeling fatigue, burnt out. What’s fascinating is the trigger or pain is the doorway into the inner landscape of the soul leading a person back home with more gifts to share after their journey. A supreme design if you ask me, to motivate us to find what our soul is here to discover and awaken to ☀
