Long Update:
Well…. I guess it’s time for an update. I posted earlier this summer that my doctor has put me on Ozempic for the condition of diabetes. This past week, I went for a follow up appointment. I didn’t expect my finger to be poked for A1C testing. My company switched from Kaiser to Anthem Blue Cross. This new doctor is not playing any health games. Anyway, I took the test.
She comes in and says, “I usually need to have a serious conversation with my patients on Ozempic. This time, I didn’t expect not to have the conversation.”
I look confused 🤔
She says, “Cheryl, it’s working. Your A1C went from 6.6 to 5.7!!!! Keep doing whatever you are doing.”
My look 👀
She noted my 20lb weight loss. I informed her the current dosage is no longer suppressing my appetite. I also have some “food noise” happening like crunchy salty or sweet salty (new). After much conversation and analysis, we decided to increase the dosage from .25 to .50. I will need injection pens more frequently. One of the things I asked my doctor was her goals for this treatment. She stated that the goal is to get me to a healthy BMI (body mass index) and body fat percentage. My job is to continue to eat healthy and move my body with cardio and weight training. My home gym is enough to keep me going. I just ordered some indoor battle rope sticks that simulate the real battle ropes with weighted springs.
Today, I did my first new injection. I’m a little nauseated and I am powering through it by taking it easy today. I am still tracking my meals. My plan…… keep running for Jesus in health and not sickness …. And it is so! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
