Where in your life do you crave more openness? What does openness feel like in your body? When do you feel most open and free? What situations make you close off?

In less than a month, we’ll be gathering in my home for our mini retreat… a morning of yoga, meditation, journaling, creativity, meaningful conversation and connection. (Or if you just need a place to hide and nap for 4 hours - we are totally accepting of that too!) Stephanie and I hope you can join us just as you are. Just 3 spots left! 💗💗💗

Trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Trust that everything you need is already within you. Get quiet and listen. Your body and heart know. Listen and feel without judgement. Trust yourself. Take the leap. The relief you will feel is worth it. Leave the thing or start the thing. Create space for what you truly want. Don’t settle. Trust yourself. You’re worth it. ☮️❤️🧘‍♂️

Hope is a universal human necessity- it is the ability to hold onto a sense of possibility and to anticipate good things ahead. It can be nurtured, strengthened and sustained so that even in the most difficult circumstances, it keeps us moving forward. Rather than allowing us to remain passive, hope inspires action. It grounds us in the present, helping to release fear about the future. It also cultivates patience in the face of uncertainty, much like waiting for seeds to grow without knowing exactly how they will turn out. In this way, hope sustains us, giving both direction and purpose along the journey. What brings you hope? What do you hope for?

We celebrated the spring equinox this past Friday - a moment when day and night were held in perfect balance, with equal amounts of light and darkness. As we begin to emerge from our winter hibernation - a more inward, reflective time - into the expansiveness of spring, it is important to move slowly and gently, allowing ourselves space to sit with these seasonal shifts. This transition from cold and dark to warmth and light brings with it a sense of hope, renewed energy and the promise of change. It’s a time for a bit of spring cleaning for the soul - clearing out what no longer serves us and making room for what does.
With this surge of energy, we are also invited to remain mindful of balance: a balance between movement and rest, between work and play, and between outward connection and inward reflection. It is within this balance that our mind, body and spirit can feel refreshed, renewed and truly open to the beauty of the season we are entering. 🌷🌞🪻

Your only true responsibility is your inner harmony.

Yoga gently reminds us that we cannot control external circumstances—the weather, traffic, other people’s thoughts, words, or actions, the past or the future, illness, loss, world conflicts, or sudden change.

What we can practice is awareness of our own breath, thoughts, emotions, and responses. This is where our choice and freedom reside.

Peace arises when we release the impulse to manage what is not ours to carry and return to the steadiness within.

If you wish to help the world, begin by tending to your inner landscape. Yoga teaches us that peace is an inside job.

I hope to see you on the mat this month for some yoga and mindfulness.

Yesterday marked the halfway point of winter. The good news? The days are getting lighter—we’ve made it through the darkest stretch of the season. Yay! And yet, we are still very much wintering.

For some, this time may feel long. You may be yearning for warmer air, green grass, and longer days. But remember: this journey through winter is essential. This period of turning inward is necessary—for us and for nature. The ground, the plants, and the animals are still resting deeply. This is the natural way of things.

As Brigit Anna McNeill beautifully describes, “It is a time for the medicine of story, of fire, of nourishment and love… a period of reconnecting, relearning, and reclaiming what this time means—bringing winter back to a season of kindness, love, rebirth, peace, and unburdening, rather than a time of dread, fear, depression, or avoidance”.

So be gentle with yourself. Appreciate these last weeks of quiet and inward connection. Take time for self-care and for activities that often get pushed aside once the warmer seasons return:

*Take a bath with your favorite essential oils and Epsom salts

*Wrap yourself in the warmest blanket you can find—or pull out those extra-thick socks from the back of the drawer

*Write in a journal or make a homemade Valentine for someone you love

*Keep lighting the fire and burning the candles

*Try a new soup or stew recipe you’ve been wanting to make

*Bundle up and take a winter walk

*Do a puzzle or play a board game

*Finally start that 500-page book you’ve been meaning to read

*Rearrange your furniture or wall hangings

*Create a winter or February music playlist

*Join me at The Yoga Loft for my Nourish + Restore class—a perfect blend of gentle movement and deep rest.
