Congratulations to Joseph Sheldon, Self Direction DSP of the year 2025!
Joseph is an exemplary DSP providing ComHab services to 3 individuals in the New Hope Community Self Direction Program. He exhibits versatility working both 1:1 and 1:2 with these participants. Joseph is kind, diligent, and attentive to the needs & valued outcomes of each participant that he works with.
One of his participants, Nate & his family feel “lucky to have Joseph on our team” and wrote the following about Joseph…
J – Joyful always – never a frown
O – Outstanding in every way
S – Sensitive to everyone’s needs
E – Empathetic with boundless energy
P – Passionate about his work
H – Honorable and hardworking
Joseph also supports two young men, Brett & Max, who live in a house independently with the support of ComHab staff and a Live-In Caregiver.
Brett’s family states, “Joe is a truly remarkable human being and DSP. Joe is completely devoted to Brett and Max and their safety, well-being, happiness, and continued development. Joe is unflappable and handles each new problem or challenge and each unexpected change in schedules or routines with a calm and professional resolve.” Joe is skilled in keeping the parents and DSP/Live-In Caregiver fully and timely informed of how they are doing and any problems or concerns that arise. Brett is learning to speak using a letterboard and keyboard and Joe has enthusiastically become “a communication partner, a challenging and difficult assignment that Joe willingly took on and succeeded in mastering.”
Joseph’s dedication as a DSP is integral to Nate, Brett & Max’s success, independence, socialization and safety. Joe truly makes a difference and those 3 special young men, their families and the Self Direction Team at New Hope are grateful for all he does.
Thank you Joe!
