❄ Happy Winter Solstice. ❄

I love the richness and beauty of Michigan winters.
Crisp white snow and its blanket of quiet gentleness.
Sunshine's winter angle casts a perpetual golden glow.
Providing a cozy crispness of comfort.

I admire the cyclical patterns of Nature. This season she tells us it's time to slow down.

Winter is a time of hibernation and reflection. Perfect for turning inward and healing wounds as well as languorously savoring the senses of the season.

Happy October 1st, Loves!

During the last week here in Michigan we've been enjoying my favorite weather: sunny with a sight breeze and the low 70s. Absolute perfection!

I made the most of it and went for a hike with one of my dearest friends at the local state park. It was the medicine my soul needed and I've felt more grounded and balanced as a result. We've agreed to keep this going at least once a week because we felt so wonderful afterward.

Happy International Women's Day 💜

Posted • Happy ! What I hope for every woman is that she invests in her own healing to eventually arrive to a place that she believes she has all the love she needs for herself ... within herself. This eliminates feeling threatened in any way by anyone and eliminates accepting less than what she truly deserves in all her relationships.

When we come upon this understanding it’s easy and magical to love other people ... especially other women in a real way. We gotta do better by one another but it will only happen by doing better with how we treat ourselves. Only then can we hold each other’s hand and serve the greatest good together. ONE WOMAN IS ... EVERY WOMAN✨💖✨

Happy International Women's Day 💜

Posted • i wrote this poem during women’s month back in 2013 or 2014. 😊♥️ at the time i was becoming aware of a few things:

1. i realized that out of any compliment i could receive nothing felt as good as hearing the word pretty 😒 and i hated that...

2. the compliment i gave to girls and women most often was about their looks. “omg you look so good. you’re so pretty. you’re so beautiful”. now- there’s nothing wrong with telling someone how great they look... but these girls and women were doing so many incredible things in their lives. they were making moves that were changing the world and here i was complimenting their looks as if that was the greatest thing about them. of course that wasn’t my intention- but i wanted to be more thoughtful in my compliments and make sure i was amplifying all aspects of those i loved- especially the aspects that aren’t visible.

so this idea began to cook inside me. it cooked and cooked and cooked until it became a poem that demanded to be written. but thennnn i avoided writing it for months- thinking the basis was silly and no one would get it.

the more i ignored it...the louder it became. the poem played inside my head like a song on repeat.

i eventually wrote it down not because i thought it was worth reading... but because i wanted to get it out of my system. i wrote it down and i tossed it aside.

i had no plans to let this poem see the light of day and yet it’s somehow become the most widely read piece i’ve ever written. soooooo in conclusion i realize that sometimes (or a lot of the times 😂) i don’t know s**t. andddddd i’d do well by spending less time doubting myself and more time trusting in the universe.
