True North Yoga MN True North Yoga was established to make yoga accessible and convenient for our busy lives. Let me create a space for you to take a moment for yourself.

Yoga is about connecting with your body, feeling what it’s telling you and giving yourself permission to listen to it. I hope you leave my classes feeling relaxed, recharged and reconnected with your True North. True North Yoga serves the western suburbs of Minneapolis and offers customized class offerings for all experience levels. Yoga for You:

Many of carry stress in our shoulders. Eagle Arms is a great stretch to open up the space between the shoulder blades and release that tension.

Give it a try:
- Start sitting comfortably.
- Reach your arms straight out to both sides.
- Bring your arms in front of you and cross them at your elbows.
- Bend your elbows about 90 degrees so hands are lifting up.
- Slide the backs of your hands together to touch or try to reach around and slide palms together.
- Lift your elbows up to chin height and press your arms into each other.
- Hold for 5-10 breaths, then repeat crossing the elbows with the other one on top.

Pro tip: after holding elbows at chin height for a few breaths, try lowering your elbows down toward your core with hands coming forward and feel the stretch move!

Did you know that tight hamstrings can lead to low back pain? In my opinion, Half Split Pose is one of the best stretches to loosen up tight hamstrings.

Give it a try:
- Start on hands and knees.
- Being your right foot forward to the inside of your right hand (lunge position).
- Slowly straighten your front leg as you shift your hips back toward your heel.
- Let your front toes lift up and walk your hands back by your sides.
- Gently press your chest down toward your front thigh.
- Hold for 5-10 breaths, then repeat on the other side.

Pro tip: slightly bend and straighten your front leg a few times to deepen the stretch.

Spinal twists are amazing for a stiff back and hips, especially if you sit a lot during the day.

Give it a try:
- Start lying on your back with legs extended long.
- Draw one knee in toward your chest.
- Bring your opposite hand to your knee and gently draw your knee across your body to twist.
- Your other arm can stay down by your side or you can reach it out away from your body.
- Gaze up or away from your bent knee.
- Hold for 5-10 breaths, then repeat on the other side.

Pro tip: let your shoulders stay low toward the floor to help stretch your chest/shoulder.
