Every month I offer ceremonial circles centered around a different goddess. And I’m always fascinated by the synchronicities that transpire every time I work with them.

When I planned the day to go to the Black Madonna church in Detroit, I didn’t know at the time that it was aligned with the feast day of a Black Madonna - Sarah-La-Kali as well as the holy day of Pentecost. I also didn’t know that when I scheduled my Black Madonna Goddess Circle that it would be exactly one week from this feast day. Wild 😵‍💫.

To me, her presence feels like a fiery creative force that’s ready to explode into the collective and in the consciousness of souls who are ready to receive her blessings. ☄️

If you’d like to learn more about the Black Madonna or immerse yourself into a weekend retreat of this Divine Feminine energy that’s ready to flower within you - click the links in the comments to explore more and to register.

Also! I have one opening tomorrow (5/28) @ if you’d like to schedule a massage, reiki or yoga therapy session with me. Please just reach out to schedule. 🙏🏻

Ahava,

I’m currently blessed with a head cold.

And as I find myself homebound until my feisty white blood cells win their battles, I’m gifted with the opportunity to slow down, pause and reflect. What I’m seeing is that, although we always have challenges in life, there’s an unprecedented chaos in the air. A dismantling of structure, order, our usual comforts, and an unraveling of old paradigms.

Maybe you can see it in the high gas, and grocery prices, in wars, oppression, fragmentation and separation, not just in faraway lands, but on the lands we currently occupy. Maybe you see it in the anxiety or depression we carry daily, or that incessant feeling that something is missing. Maybe you see it causing disharmony in your relationships with those you love.

From one perspective this can look like a terrible obstacle in life that we want to resist, but from a higher perspective - it’s also a blessing. Because if we allow it, the pressure of it can pivot us out of the darkness and deeper into the light.✨

For me, the healing balm that takes me towards the light is devotion. Devotion to trusting that all is in divine order and that Life is always supporting my souls evolution, even when it doesn’t look like it. It’s devotion to caring and having compassion for my loved ones, my community, and even for my “enemies”. It’s devotion to having gratitude for all the abundance that Life offers. And its devotion to myself. To treat my body as a temple so that I may be able to effectively serve others from a place rooted in love.💞

Devotion is a classical approach to connect with the Source of Life. When we are in the act of pure devotion - we become humble, yet we feel uplifted. Our hearts open, our minds become clear, our fragmented parts unite, and we come home to ourselves. 🙏🏻

This is why I created an immersive weekend retreat for you to dive into devotion. Every aspect of it from the sacred land it’s held on, to the nourishing food, to the cozy accommodations and thoughtfully curated activities - I’m tying with a bow and infusing with love. 💝

The Greek goddess Gaia is more ancient than Zeus and the Olympian pantheon of Ancient Greece. She emerged from chaos, the dark void, nothingness, the fertile soil of pure potentiality, the primordial cosmic womb where time had yet to exist. Kaos eventually came into form becoming Gaia, our dear planet Mother Earth. 🌎

When Greek mythology was born out of the subconscious dreams of humankind — Gaia’s ancient presence became veiled by the patriarchal lens of the time.

Not many know that the infamous Oracle of Delphi was actually first a sacred site where the heart of Gaia could be felt and her messages could be heard. But the god Apollo dominated the site, slayed Python (the serpent which symbolizes the kundalini and the Divine Feminine), erected a temple and dedicated it to himself.

Within this month’s Goddess Circle we will be giving Gaia the attention she deserves and all of our precious earth-kin that dwell on her. We’ll honor her as Divine Mother, a creatrix, and a goddess while awakening her within ourselves.

Within this circle we will be…

✨ learning about Gaia’s mythology.

✨ activating our intentions with honey water infused with crystals and Reiki.

✨ embodying our interconnection with all life through somatic body prayers, asanas, breath-work and contemplative meditation on items found in nature.

✨ giving back to her through our prayers and thoughtfully curated offerings.

✨ anointing and activating our chakras with consecrated earth-based oils.

✨ reflective journaling and group share.

All while held in the arms of nature at a park next to a lake - weather permitting.

I’d be honored for you to join us! 🌷

After more than 15 years as a massage therapist, the most valuable skill I’ve learned isn’t a technique, but an ability to listen beyond just words.

When I place my hands on a person, I don’t just go through the motions of a mechanical massage. Instead, I listen to what they tell me verbally, and what their body, breath, and presence have to say, too.

I quietly observe how you walk and sit. The way you hold your neck, shoulders, and pelvis. And the quality of your breathing and emotional state before you lie on my table or begin your yoga therapy session.

With massage, I’ve learned to feel not just where the tension is, but how much pressure wants to be applied and for how long. I feel the adhesions within tissue fibers. As I stretch your body, I sense the edge of resistance and know how far to take it. One of the most satisfying feelings is noticing a muscle soften beneath my fingertips.

In yoga therapy, I weigh how effective a posture or other technique I use is by watching the retention in your breath and the tension you’re carrying in your jaw or elsewhere in your body.

In Reiki, I sense your subtle energy body and imbalances or stagnation within your flow of ki (life-force energy).

I approach not just the anatomy with my offerings, I see your whole self: your mind, your emotions, your ki, and the elements as they are all intrinsically woven together.

This gift I’ve cultivated as a therapist has carried into every part of my life. As I continue to learn the art of listening, I notice I’m able to navigate life with less reactivity, more adaptability, and openness, while allowing for more peace and grace to easefully flow through.

So, when you come into contact with others, may you remember to listen. To sync up with their presence instead of imposing your own thoughts, emotions, or reactions onto them. May you bring understanding and compassion to every soul, no matter their background, or beliefs. And may we all continue to support one another through the waves of life as we come into sacred relationship with all parts of ourselves and re-member our inherent wholeness.

As the spring equinox approaches, let's take a deeper look at what this means for us and why it's important to wholistically spring clean. First of all, where did the phrase "spring cleaning" come from?

The ancient Celts were deeply attuned to nature and called the first day of spring Imbolc. One translation of Imbolc is "to cleanse".

In order for the Earth to provide a fruitful summer, it needs to clean itself through alchemizing dead plant life into soil, while making space for the life within that is eager to be reborn. We can see this with the abundance of rain that comes as we transition from winter to spring with the phrase "April showers bring May flowers". The showers cleanse the land and prepare it for rebirth. Hence the phrase, "spring cleaning".

We apply this same concept of spring cleaning to our homes when we open the windows for a fresh breeze to lighten the heaviness of winter. We also take old clothes to thrift stores and give in to that primal urge to cleanse the whole home through a deep clean.

Through a wholistic lenes, this is reflected within our bodily "homes" or "temples". When we attune ourselves with nature, and work to actively clean our body, mind and spirit, life flows with more ease and grace.

Cleaning within our body can look like fasting from sugar, sweating through exercise, a yoga practice with those delicious spinal rotations, or through the deep relief that comes from a full body massage to aid with the flushing out of tension and excess toxins.

Cleaning the mind and spirit can look like letting go of opinions, identities, and attachments that limit us. We can practice embodiment techniques that help to settle the "monkey mind" for mental clarity while making space for our light to shine through. Some examples of embodiment techniques are somatic movements, chanting, yoga, breath-work, meditation and energy-work.

May be blessed by the Light of your inner spring. 🌷

“I myself worship the Mother aspect [of God], especially. For the Mother is closer than the Father. The Father aspect of God represents that part which is aloof from His creation. The Mother is creation itself. Even among humankind, the human father is more disposed than the mother to judge their erring children. The mother always forgives” ~ Paramhansa Yogananda

What is Divine Feminine Spirituality?

If you’re reading this there’s probably a curiosity within you towards the feminine aspect of the Divine. I see this inner stirring not just as a curiosity, but an awakening of the Divine Feminine presence. And this awakening isn’t just happening inside you, we can see it happening in popular culture through a myriad of beautiful expressions: literature, music, movies, and even community gatherings. It’s become a systemic awakening in the collective because the world not only needs Her medicine right now, but we are ready to receive and embody it.

The Divine Feminine isn’t just a motherly archetype - she’s a sister, a daughter, a friend, and even the compassion that radiates from your father’s heart. She’s also the tough love given through the painful lessons we learn in life that soften our edges, cultivates humility, improves inner clarity and opens our hearts to experience a deeper reciprocal love between you and Life itself. She’s the creative force that lives within you and wants to be shared with the world. She’s the light of the Divine Masculine birthed into form and given a home.

So Divine Feminine spirituality is when we align our life to honor Her presence within our self, each other, nature and everything in-between. And dedicate our spiritual practices to receiving Her through emptying our vessels of all conditioning, programming and karma that is obstructing Her creative flow of unconditional love, so that she may become embodied and flow through us with ease and grace.

Please see my website in the comments for opportunities to practice Divine Feminine spirituality - whether it’s through the softening that happens from receiving self-love offerings such as massage therapy, or through intentional gatherings with like-minds to further awaken Her presence within.

With blessings and gratitude,
Shannon Lynn 🌷
