This month is a time for advocates, survivors, loved ones and communities to come together to speak openly about sexual violence, support survivors, increase awareness and identify ways to prevent harm. Sexual violence is preventable and stopping abuse, assault, and harassment requires collective action to promote healthy, safe, and respectful behaviors.
For survivors or those currently experiencing abuse, it’s common to feel shame, guilt, fear, or isolation. These experiences can also contribute to stress, anxiety, depression and substance use. Support and healing are possible, and no one has to face this alone.
If you or someone you know has experienced abuse and needs help, Michiana Behavioral Health is here to listen and support. We are an inpatient hospital serving children ages 6–17 and adults 18 and older. We are available 24/7, and walk‑ins are welcome.

This month, we recognize the importance of communities working together to support and strengthen families and help prevent child abuse. By coming together, we can raise awareness around child and family well‑being and implement effective strategies that support families and protect children from abuse and neglect.
Child abuse can take many forms, including sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, neglect, or exposure to domestic violence. These experiences often lead to childhood trauma, which can have lasting effects on mental health, including anxiety, depression, and difficulties with trust. Abuse can also result in long‑term physical and emotional challenges.
Healing is possible. At Michiana Behavioral Health, we offer inpatient acute care, residential treatment and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) to support children, adolescents and families on their path to recovery.
If you’re seeking help for a loved one, call us today at 574‑936‑3784 to find the program that best fits their needs. We are available 24/7, and walk‑ins are welcome. Help is just a phone call away.
