You don’t have to work out for 30-60 minutes to get the amazing benefits of exercise. Completing just 15-20 minutes a day is enough to hit the recommended 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week or 75 minutes of strenuous exercise per week. You can break that down into 5 minute segments during the day if needed to reach the full time.
Consistency is key and making workouts shorter is usually easier than trying to fit in long workouts.
If you need help setting up an exercise plan or you’d like some coaching to help you stay on track with your fitness goals contact the office to set up an appointment! 💪

When you have chronic pain it is helpful to establish a baseline of where you are at and help determine areas to focus on. Give the items a rating from 0-10. 0=not a problem and 10=severe problem/limitation.
Items that score as a 8-10 will be main concerns to focus on.
I’ll be sharing other areas to assess in future posts as well as some strategies to help with each of the areas.

If you answered “false” to yesterday’s post you are correct!

Our brain ultimately determines how much pain we feel based on the input it is receiving from sensations throughout the body, thoughts and emotions. Based on this assessment the brain will send out pain signals if it perceives there is danger.

Pain is complex and in chronic cases often requires addressing more than just the location of the pain.
The good news is there are a lot of things a person can do to influence the brain’s perception of pain.

What are some factors you think influence pain levels? Let me know in the comments.

Do you feel in control of your social wellbeing? Reflect on some of these questions..
Are you able to ask for help?
Do you communicate clearly during conflict?
Do you have someone you can count on?
Are you able to say “no” to your social circle?
Are you okay with being alone?
Our social wellness is important to our health because we can use these skills to communicate effectively, set boundaries, and respectfully engage with others.
Let’s begin October with our social wellness in mind🍂.

Don’t forget to smile today!!!
Smiling is a hidden gem in the health world. Just by putting a smile on your face- you guessed it- improves your health!!!😁
Smiling has been seen to decrease pain by releasing endorphins (which also make us feel more positive and happier). I guess that puts a new spin to the saying “smile through the pain” 😅
Happy Thursday! (Currently smiling because tomorrow is Friday!)
