SURE it may hit 90 today... but remember -
IT'S NEVER TOO HOT FOR YOUR HOT PACK!
The heat provided by hot packs has several important benefits.
+Relaxes tight muscles, causing tissues to relax.
- Decreases pain caused by muscle tension or spasms.
+Causes vasodilatation of the blood vessels, which increases circulation to the area.
Increased circulation to your injured body part helps bring in nutrients, oxygen, and cells that promote healing. This increased circulation can also wash away metabolic waste materials that may be gathered around your injured body site.

Memorial Day - It’s about the men and women who gave their lives in defense of this Country. It’s about the ones who never came home. It’s for the families who carry their loss every single day—not just one weekend in May.

We owe them more than a passing mention. We owe them a moment—of silence, stillness, of reflection, of gratitude.

So yes, fire up the grill. Laugh with family. Enjoy the freedom they gave you.

But don’t forget those brave souls who paid for it.

Because Memorial Day isn’t about how we celebrate.

It’s about why we remember.

UNCLE JACK just called - he has EPICONDYLITIS! oH nOOO!
No worries - he'll be fine! Here's what's going on. Tendons are thick cords of tissue that connect muscles to bones, facilitating movement and providing stability to joints. When these tendons become inflamed or irritated due to repetitive motion, overuse, injury, or aging, it leads to tendinitis. Common types of arm and wrist tendinitis include:

Golfer’s Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis): Involves the inflammation of the tendons on the inside of the elbow. It typically occurs due to repetitive wrist and forearm movements, leading to pain and tenderness on the inner side of the elbow.

Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis): Involves the inflammation of tendons on the outside of the elbow. It often results from repetitive gripping, lifting, or twisting motions, causing pain and tenderness on the outer side of the elbow.

De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis: Affects the tendons on the thumb side of the wrist, leading to pain and swelling in the wrist and lower thumb. It is often associated with repetitive thumb and wrist movements.

A bit of PT and he'll be back to swinging a club soon! www.longpondpt.com
