The 2026 Plymouth Ice Festival Presented by Michigan First Credit Union Returns January 30–February 1 With a Thrilling New Zip Line, Interactive Experiences, and World-Class Ice Artistry
PLYMOUTH, MI — Downtown Plymouth will once again transform into a sparkling winter playground as the 2026 Plymouth Ice Festival, presented by Michigan First Credit Union, returns Friday, January 30 through Sunday, February 1, 2026. This iconic winter tradition brings together families, visitors, and ice-art enthusiasts from across Michigan for three days of breathtaking ice sculptures, live entertainment, interactive attractions, and the unmistakable charm of downtown Plymouth.
New for 2026, the festival introduces an exciting Zip Line experience, giving guests an entirely new way to see—and feel—the Ice Festival like never before.
More than 150 professionally carved ice sculptures, each created from a 350-pound block of crystal-clear ice, will line downtown sidewalks and fill Kellogg Park. Nationally recognized, award-winning ice carvers will demonstrate their craft throughout the weekend, offering guests a front-row view of the precision, creativity, and artistry behind every frozen masterpiece.
“Each year, we look for ways to raise the bar while staying true to what makes the Ice Festival special,” said James Gietzen, Festival Director. “From world-class carvings to new interactive experiences like the Zip Line, the Ice Festival is about bringing people together, supporting our downtown, and creating unforgettable winter memories.”
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
NEW FOR 2026: Ice Festival Zip Line Experience
Take winter fun to new heights with the debut of the Ice Festival Zip Line. This approximately 300-foot ride sends participants soaring above the festival, offering a one-of-a-kind aerial view of the vibrant energy of downtown Plymouth. Designed to be safe, exciting, and family-friendly, the Zip Line adds a bold, adrenaline-pumping element to the Ice Festival experience.
Also new for 2026 Hot Chocolate & S’mores Porch
Warm up and unwind at the Hot Chocolate & S’mores Porch, a cozy new gathering spot debuting in 2026 and located along Penniman Avenue. This inviting winter experience offers guests the perfect place to slow down, warm up, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Ice Festival.
Festival-goers can enjoy hot chocolate, coffee, and other specialty winter drinks from Continental Drip, then pick up a S’mores kit and roast their own treats around a warm, crackling fire. Whether you’re stopping by with family, meeting friends, or taking a break between ice carvings, the Hot Chocolate & S’mores Porch delivers a classic winter experience for all ages.
This new feature adds another layer of comfort, charm, and hands-on fun—making it a must-visit stop during the 2026 Plymouth Ice Festival.
Ice Carvings Throughout Downtown Plymouth
Over 150 illuminated ice sculptures will be displayed throughout the downtown district, maintained and enjoyed all weekend long.

Family Petting Zoo – Presented by Michigan First Credit Union
Located on Penniman, the petting zoo features horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, alpacas, a baby calf, and pony rides.

Interactive Ice Experience Area
Guests of all ages are invited to step inside the fun at the Interactive Ice Experience Area, where ice carvings aren’t just for viewing—they’re meant to be enjoyed. This playful space features interactive ice sculptures designed for sitting, posing, and playing, making it one of the most photo-friendly areas of the festival.
Visitors can take pictures with larger-than-life characters carved entirely from ice, sit atop interactive ice pieces, and try their hand at winter games like ice shuffleboard, played on a specially carved ice shuffleboard table. This hands-on area encourages families, kids, and adults alike to engage directly with the artistry of ice carving in a fun, approachable way.
Sensory-Friendly Space – Miracle League of Plymouth Tent
The Plymouth Ice Festival is proud to continue offering a Sensory-Friendly Space in partnership with the Miracle League of Plymouth.
Located on Penniman Avenue near the Penn Theatre, this dedicated tent provides a quieter, less crowded environment for guests who may need a break from the sights, sounds, and activity of the festival. The space allows visitors to relax, regroup, and enjoy a calmer festival experience.
Guests can interact with a small selection of ice carvings and take a moment away from the crowds in a welcoming and supportive setting. This sensory-friendly space reflects the festival’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and creating an enjoyable experience for all members of the community.

Ice Bar & Party Tent – E.G. Nick’s Party Lot
Located at E.G. Nick’s, the Ice Festival Party Lot returns as the premier evening destination for adult festival-goers, combining a one-of-a-kind Ice Bar, a heated party tent, live music, and a strong lineup of nationally recognized beverage partners.
The Ice Bar, presented by Pink Whitney and Elijah Craig, will be open throughout the festival, serving ice-cold cocktails and seasonal favorites in a festive winter setting.
The heated Party Lot Tent opens at 7:00 PM on Friday and Saturday nights, with live music from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, creating a high-energy atmosphere to cap off each festival day.

A cover charge will be collected for entry to the Party Tent, with proceeds benefiting the Plymouth VFW Post, supporting local veterans and their families.
