Meet Jeanne Middleton! Jeanne had been thinking about assisted living before an illness brought her to Miller's Rehab Center. As she recovered, she realized that going back home just wasn't the best option, especially since cooking had become more and more difficult.

Jeanne shared, "Coming to assisted living means accepting change, but the staff are just wonderful and I've made new friends!" Now she's enjoying life without the worries of cleaning, laundry or cooking. Miller's takes care of it all so she can spend her time doing the activities she chooses and truly enjoying herself. Welcome to the Miller's family, Jeanne!

Ann Bradley brought in her beautiful Calico cat and her four precious babies for a special visit. Ann shared that it's actually rare for this type of cat to have two female kittens in the same litter, so how special is that?

There were smiles all around as residents held and gently petted the tiny fur babies. And here's a sweet little bonus, studies show that petting a cat can lower heart rate and blood pressure, reduce stress hormones, and even increase serotonin levels. Just a few minutes of cuddling a kitten can promote relaxation and improve overall mood. What a great way to wind down February at American Heart Month!

Thank you again, Ann, for bringing in your adorable fur babies and sharing the love. They truly made everyone's day a little brighter!

Meet Diana Ellis! Diana moved to Miller's in April 2024 due to health concerns that made living at home no longer possible. Like many new beginnings, it took a little time to adjust. At first, Diana was shy and kept to herself, but that didn't last long.
She soon met new friends and began feeling right at home. Diana shares that the staff are always friendly and willing to help whenever she needs it. One of the things she appreciates most, "There's always someone here watching over me."

That peace of mind means everything. And let's not forget one of her favorite perks is the food! Diana loves not having to cook and clean up anymore. We're so grateful you're part of the Miller's family, Diana. Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey!

Our dietary staff is always ready to have a little fun and last Tuesday was no exception! They showed up dressed for Mardi Gras and brought the celebration right to the dining room!

In the afternoon residents enjoyed festive decorations, lots of smiles, and of course, some delicious paczki before Ash Wednesday began. It's moments like these that make everyday life a little more special!

When we think about heart health, we usually focus on exercise and eating right, but taking care of our mental health is just as important. Reading a good book is a simple and powerful way to do both. Studies show that just six minutes of reading can lower heart rate and blood pressure by up to 68%, helping the body relax and easing muscle tension even more than listening to music or going for a walk.

During American Heart Month, it's a great reminder that slowing down with a good book isn't just enjoyable it good for your heart too! ❤❤

February is American Heart Month! Although Miller's offers exercise classes, some of the residents also enjoy staying active in their own way right in their apartments. Whether it's stretching, riding an exercise bike, light weights, or walking the halls, every bit of movement matters.

Staying active, no matter how you choose to do it, helps keep both the body and mind strong, and we love seeing the residents take charge of their health in way that work best for them! Celebrate your heart health this month! ❤❤

Last Thursday, the Administrators from Miller's Health Systems gathered at the Life Enrichment Center in Plymouth. During their lunch break they were treated to a taco bar prepared by Jennifer Merritt, Restaurant Manager from Miller's Senior Living Community - Plymouth.

It was the perfect chance to slow down, enjoy a great meal, and visit together. Anna Corbett, our Community Relations Director, was also there lending a helping hand and spending time connecting with the Administrators. A big shout out to the Life Enrichment Center for hosting! It's a great spot for meeting, showers, and gatherings at an affordable price.

Joe and Linda - "A strong marriage is built on love, understanding, patience, and kindness."
Richard and Connie - "Saying nice things to each other and spending time together keeps love growing."
Jack and Sandy Miller - "Have sticking power, meaning don't give up just because you're mad and of course, follow the rules: happy wife, happy life!"

With Valentine's Day approaching, some of our married staff were happy to share a little marriage advice and reflect on their own love stories:

Jan and Kim – Keep short accounts. Let the sun go down while you are still angry, Ephesians 5:26. And give each other the benefit of the doubt.
Jennifer and Thomas – Have your own hobbies and interests.
Nicole and Justin – Celebrate the happy moments and find the good in everything especially in the hard moments.
Jennifer and Steven – Do something fun together no matter how big or small. Serena and Bill – Don't take your worries and stress from work out on your person!

We're so grate full for the wonderful examples of commitment we get to see here every day!
