Last week we had to say goodbye to one of our College Activity Assistants Reese Lieser. Today we found this beautiful post she did on Linkedin:

After four wonderful years at Park’s Place Memory Care, my time here has come to a close. It’s hard to sum up what these years have meant to me. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside an incredible team supporting residents and families through some of life’s most complex and challenging moments. The lessons I’ve learned about compassion, patience, and the strength of the human spirit will stay with me forever. I’m so grateful for the relationships built here and the residents who left a lasting mark on my heart. This fall I will be transitioning into a role as a Unit Assistant at the University of Iowa Hospital Emergency Department. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with a team dedicated to supporting individuals in the immediate aftermath of a mental health crisis.

Best of luck to Reese and thank you for your commitment to Parks’ Place the last 4 years in providing Moments of Joy to our reaidents and families.

Dementia Friends Minnesota recently celebrated a milestone as it registered its 30,000th Dementia Friend. City of Plymouth staff members helped push the organization over the goal line by hosting a session and signing up the 29,999th Dementia Friend.

Office Support Representative Nicole Bourgeois, Plymouth's newest Dementia Friends Champion, co-hosted the session with Recreation Supervisor Meghan Constantini. Though just one short of the 30,000 milestone – the City of Plymouth is proud to help Minnesota hit the goal, which it has since surpassed.

To become a Dementia Friend, attendees participate in an information session to understand what dementia is and how it affects people. Plymouth Parks and Recreation hosts information sessions through its Meet Your Neighbor Series.

About Parks’ Place: By our family for your family

Founded in 2018, Parks’ Place was created by a family directly touched by Alzheimer’s disease. Their experience moved them to redefine memory care and create a community where families and residents can feel at home. Parks’ Place offers a meaningfully planned environment and programming that focuses on abilities rather than disabilities—and staff members who are passionate about providing highly personalized care to the people they serve.
