Is your liver the "hidden" reason for high cholesterol? 🔍
In my practice, I often see patients frustrated because their LDL and Triglycerides remain high despite a "perfect" diet. When we look at their labs, their liver enzymes (ALT and AST) are usually in the "normal" range—so they assume their liver is fine.

Here is the clinical truth: Standard liver enzymes only tell us if liver cells are actively dying (lysis). They do NOT tell us if your liver is metabolically sluggish or struggling to process fats.
Think of your liver as the "Traffic Controller" for your lipids. Its job is to package cholesterol and triglycerides and send them where they need to go—or excrete them through bile.

If that traffic controller is overwhelmed:
❌ Triglycerides stay high.
❌ LDL won't budge.
❌ HDL stays low.

If your labs are "normal" but your lipids are rising, we don't just need a different diet—we need to shift your physiology and support the organ doing the heavy lifting.

3 Signs your lipids are actually a liver issue:
1️⃣ Triglycerides are over 100.
2️⃣ You have stubborn belly fat despite clean eating.
3️⃣ Your LDL is high but your CRP (inflammation) is low.

Peace in the world starts with peace in your own nervous system. 🌍🤍
The world is heavy right now. The news is heartbreaking. And when we combine that emotional weight with the brutal winter isolation, it is easy to fall into the trap of "Doom Scrolling" for hours.
But I want to offer you a different perspective today:
Destroying your own health does not help the world heal.
When you consume trauma 24/7 without being able to act on it, your body floods with Cortisol. This suppresses your immune system, spikes your blood sugar, and leads to burnout.
If there is an action you can take to help—donate, volunteer, speak up—do it.
But if you are just watching and worrying? You are depleting the very energy you need to be of service.
Self-care is not selfish; it is community care. By keeping yourself strong, healthy, and out of urgent care, you are preserving resources and showing up as a pillar of strength for those around you.
