Autism Mattersโ€™ unique and innovative approach to therapy combines the expertise of multiple disciplines that are state licensed and certified and evidence-based treatment methods based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and verbal behavior. By utilizing the expertise of all disciplines, Autism Matters is able to take a whole-person approach to therapy, aimed at providing the highest quality treatments and interventions. In doing this, Autism Matters is able to prevent a potential disconnect between disciplines by incorporating ABA principles, speech-language, occupational therapy, and/or psychotherapy. The collaboration of therapy professionals offers the best of all words for our children to develop speech, language, communication, self-help skills, gross and fine motor skills, emotional regulation, social interactions, attending, and many other skill sets that will impact their day to day functioning. Within this framework, children have access to customized treatment plans based on individual needs in the areas of, but not limited to: Speech, Receptive-Expressive Language, Communication, Social Interactions, Gross and Fine Motor Skills, Play Skills, Feeding, Classroom Readiness, Adaptive Daily Living Skills, Behavior Management, and Emotional Regulation. Speech and Language Therapy, Feeding Therapy, and Occupational Therapy are also available for any child in need of these services. Please visit our website for more information about the services we provide and/or potential career opportunities (www.autismmatters.net).

Receptive identification is when a child shows they understand a word or direction by choosing or pointing to the right item after someone asks.

Examples:
1. You say, โ€œShow me the car,โ€ and your child points to the car picture.
2. You ask, โ€œWhereโ€™s your nose?โ€ and your child touches their nose.
3. You say, โ€œGive me the spoon,โ€ and your child hands you the spoon.

In ABA, receptive identification is important because it helps children:
-Build understanding of language (they know what words mean).
-Follow directions in daily life.
-Get ready for school tasks (like listening to instructions from a teacher).

๐ŸŒŸ Happy 1-Year Anniversary, Tiff! ๐ŸŒŸ

Today weโ€™re celebrating one full year with one of the most dedicated, hard-working, and compassionate people on our Rogers team โ€” our amazing Front Office Administrator, Tiff! ๐Ÿ’™

No task is ever too big or too small โ€” sheโ€™ll take it on, figure it out, and get it done with a smile. Even through personal health challenges she continues to show up with unwavering dedication, working from home and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
