Answers for Elders: A Beacon of Hope for Families Navigating Senior Care: is excited to announce the start to a whole new chapter July 1,2025. Barbara Cannon, the founder now former owner is passing the torch to some very accomplished professional nurses.

Raphael and Jennifer Oladokun, both experienced registered nurses, are the new owners of Answers for Elders. With over 20 years of combined nursing experience across Nigeria, the UK, and the U.S., they bring deep compassion and professional insight to senior care. Jennifer, an MSN and Certified Geriatric Care Manager, has led in nursing home settings, while Raphael(BSN) has worked across various clinical roles, including med-surg and school nursing. Their decision to acquire Answers for Elders stems from witnessing serious gaps in care coordination for seniors. Inspired by Barbara’s original mission, they aim to build on her legacy with nurse-led, patient-centered care that prioritizes dignity and independence for every elder.

As our company continues to grow We are seeking a per diem/part time Care Manager/social worker/ Aging Life Care Expert. Passionate about working with seniors, the chronically ill and disabled population.

As case load grows hours can increase very quickly. This position requires the flexibility of spending time in the office, working remotely and traveling locally.

Responsibilities:
Answers for Elders is a Care Management agency with expertise in Aging. We serve elderly members of the community in need of medical, psycho-social, emotional and financial care management.

The Social Worker’s role includes but is not limited to the following:

• Initiating, coordinating and communicating care plans for elderly clients.
• Conducting psycho-social evaluations, administering tests to assess cognitive abilities and mood.
• Understanding Medicare, Medicaid, Mass Health Planning and Long-Term Care policies.
• Maintaining contact with client responsible parties: family, physicians, attorneys and agencies.
• Works closely with in-house team for administrative support.
• In-depth documentation of all client interactions and outcomes.
• Negotiating with agencies for optimum service pricing based on client finances.
• Traveling throughout Plymouth, Barnstable, Bristol & Norfolk Counties for home visits and
appointments.
• Advocating for clients based on individual medical, financial and social needs.

Qualifications:
• LSW Required
• Experience with elder care
• Proficient knowledge of computer programs
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Reliable transportation
• Must have strong work ethic
• Must be looking for long term position
• Must be reliable and dependable

Regarding Governor Maura Healey Visit to Center for Active Living Plymouth aging in Massachusetts aging in Plymouth. Executive order. establishes a Governor’s Advisory Group on Age-Friendly Policies and Practices.

The purpose of this plan is to align the partners around a shared vision and provide a framework for our efforts over the next five years (2025-2030).

Governor Healey signed the state’s first tax cuts in 20 years, which included doubling the Senior Circuit Breaker Tax Credit. Under this expansion, seniors were eligible to receive up to $2,730 this year. The tax cuts package also created the most generous Child and Family Tax Credit in the country, which provides families with $440 per dependent, including those who are 65 and older.

Governor Healey increased from $1,500 to $2,000 the maximum property tax abatement available to seniors who perform volunteer services.

expanded Medicare Saving Program eligibility to allow more older residents to take advantage of benefits and save money on health care costs. The new guidelines allow for more Massachusetts residents to enroll in the program and save up to $3,000 per year

$5.8 million in grants to expand mobility for older adults, people with disabilities, and low-income individuals. Many grant recipients were Councils on Aging and/or Aging Services Access Points I.e. Old Colony Elder Services, South Shore Elder Services, etc..

"Answers For Elders helped guide our family through the difficult and delicate decision-making process of finding appropriate services for our mother, who had Alzheimer's Disease. It was invaluable to have a team as knowledgeable as them to guide us from that point in our mother’s condition to her end-of-life care. They were extremely knowledgeable, resourceful and compassionate, and acted as tireless advocates for our mother and us. They made home visits, connected us with financial and legal specialists, researched and attended multiple meetings to help us find the best assisted-living and, later, nursing-home resources. They also attended family/staff care meetings. Most families "do not know what they do not know," so need an outside consultant who is level, calm and professional, helping them manage the logistics and arrive at appropriate decisions while being mindful of what a family’s emotional responses may be telling them.
