The Jordan Hospital Club began in 1906 as a group of eight women who helped the hospital by wrapping bandages, sterilizing instruments and performing duties to aid the nursing staff. Now, 100 years later, the Club has hundreds of members, an active Board of Directors and many volunteers who raise hundreds of thousands of dollars each year and donate thousands of hours of service. The Jordan Hospit
al Club is excited to continue its mission of support and advocacy for excellence in our community's health care. The Jordan Hospital Club raises funds a variety of ways to support Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth and in turn, these funds support a myriad of departments and initiatives within the hospital. The Club's Signature Events include the Polar Plunge, The Duxbury Lawn Party, and for 7 years, Kayla's Beat Goes On 5K. Other sources of funds include the Annual Appeal, The Jordan Hospital Club Gift Shop and the Endowment Fund. Through the hard work and dedication of volunteers and the generosity of our sponsors and donors, the Club is able to provide nursing scholarships, ER Teddy Bears, free Hibiclense to outpatient surgery candidates, and major capital contributions to various departments each year. The Polar Plunge alone has raised over $1 million for the Jordan Hospital Club Cancer Center. The Club has also made significant monetary contributions to the Cardiovascular Center, the BirthPlace, the Cardio Rehabilitation Center, the Breast Center and more. The Jordan Hospital Club looks forward to being a major supporter of new hospital initiatives, including the Family Behavioral Health Initiative.
