Marshall-Starke Development Center, Inc. Joesph, Miami, Wabash, Kosciusko, and Fulton Counties.

MSDC empowers individuals with disabilities through day services, employment, residential support, Head Start, and community programs across Marshall, Starke, Pulaski, St. Beginning in 1965, Marshall-Starke provided a wide range of rehabilitative services to developmentally disabled individuals. Adult services have further been enhanced through the promotion of community employment and the provisi

on of valuable production alternatives for area business and industry which has resulted in positive and successful relationships in our communities. From these modest beginnings, Marshall-Starke branched into early childhood education for non-disabled and at-risk children through our Head Start, Early Head Start, and Healthy Families programs. The programs and services offered through Marshall-Starke and recognized by national accreditations, such as CARF and NAEYC, substantiate what recipients of our services have known for over 40 years that Marshall-Starke promotes a culture of compassion and a commitment to accountability.

Little learners, big futures. 🌱

Our Head Start and Early Head Start programs are giving the youngest members of our community the strong start they deserve. We believe every child β€” no matter their abilities or background β€” deserves to walk into their future with confidence, curiosity, and a whole lot of love and support behind them.

We love watching these little ones grow. πŸ’œ

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to reflect on something important: mental health isn't just about one month on the calendar.

It's about the everyday moments of connection, dignity, and belonging that we work to create year-round at MSDC. It's about knowing someone's name, celebrating their progress, and walking with them through every season of life.

Thank you for joining us this month in raising awareness and celebrating the individuals and families we serve. The work continues β€” and we're so glad you're part of it. πŸ’œ

What took place on that runway was so much more than fashion.

It was courage.
It was confidence.
It was growth.
It was self-expression.
It was individuals stepping into the spotlight and showing our community exactly who they are.

Hosted by Marshall-Starke Development Center, this unforgettable event featured adults with intellectual and physical disabilities taking the runway through a powerful storytelling experience using fashion, music, lighting, and community support.

Every walk down the runway represented a journey. From uncertainty to confidence. From being overlooked to being celebrated.

Our participants showed incredible bravery, pride, and joy as they stepped outside of their comfort zones and into a moment they will never forget.

This event would not have been possible without our amazing staff, families, volunteers, community supporters, donors, and everyone who believed in our participants every step of the way.

We also want to give a very special thank you to Black Cat Clothing Co. for partnering with us and helping bring this vision to life.

At MSDC, we believe every ability deserves a stage. This fashion show was proof of what can happen when individuals are empowered, encouraged, and supported by their community.

Please take a moment to watch, share, and celebrate our participants with us.

Empowerment is one of our core values β€” and it's at the heart of why we do this work at MSDC.

Empowerment means helping individuals discover what they're capable of, build on their strengths, and step into their own independence. It isn't something we give β€” it's something we create the conditions for, through trust, support, and genuine belief in every person we serve. πŸ’ͺ

Community is one of our core values β€” and it's the reason MSDC exists.

Community is built one relationship at a time. It's the neighbor who shows up. The business that says yes. The family that trusts us. The participant who makes someone laugh every single morning.

Thank you for being part of ours. 🀝
