A Point of Balance

A Point of Balance A Point of Balance Christopher Arnold LMT serving Plymouth, MA area, offering Myofascial Release (John F. Barnes method) Swedish & deep tissue massage.

Welcome Everyone! A Point of Balance Myofascial Release therapy is the culmination of my ongoing experience in the field of massage & connective tissue therapy. My initial training in massage was in 2005 at Spa Tech Institute in Westbrook Maine. I then went on to be the massage therapist at LaVallee Chiropractic in Augusta, ME while operating my own massage practice. I moved back to Massachusetts in 2011 and became a massage instructor at the Plymouth MA campus of Spa Tech in 2013. In the summer of 2015 I began my training with John F. Barnes Myofascial Release where I have now achieved Advanced practitioner status. A very proud moment for me! Office hours by appointment only.

Welcome to summertime weather!
Please remember to hydrate well every day.
In my 17 years of bodywork, one thing that has remained consistent is that well hydrated people have less pain in general.
Imagine a sponge that has been left out for several days. Not only does it dry out, but it also shrinks and the edges curl up.
Your fascia is very similar to a sponge in that it's 3 dimensional area must remain flexible in order to accommodate the constant movement of your body and all it's internal components.
With all of your nerves, muscles, tendons, ligaments etc running through this matrix, it's easy to imagine how the shrinking and drying out would easily produce pain and lack of range of motion.
Enjoy the warm weather and drink up!
