Happy Occupational Therapy Month! 🤍

This month, we’re celebrating the heart of what we do, and the incredible occupational therapists who make it all possible.

Our OT team goes above and beyond every single day to support the whole child looking beyond just one skill and truly understanding how everything connects. From sensory processing and emotional regulation to fine motor skills and independence, they meet each child where they are and help them thrive.

ITS is excited to host an upcoming RMTi (Rhythmic Movement Training International) course this October with RMTi founder Moira Dempsey!

This class is perfect for therapists, educators, and parents who want to better support nervous system development, regulation, and functional movement. RMTi uses simple, research-based movements to help improve attention, coordination, emotional regulation, and more.

✨ What you’ll gain:
• Practical tools you can use right away
• A deeper understanding of primitive reflex integration
• Techniques to support kids (and adults!) in everyday life

Every person deserves a way to share their thoughts, ideas, and feelings with the world.

At Integrated Therapy Services, we offer Spelling 2 Communicate (S2C) — a motor-based communication approach designed to support nonspeaking individuals.

S2C uses letter boards and purposeful gross motor movements to help individuals access reliable communication while developing stronger motor control. This approach presumes competence and recognizes that many nonspeaking individuals understand far more than they are able to physically express.

Through Spelling 2 Communicate, we support:

✨ Authentic, autonomous communication
✨ Motor-based access to language for nonspeakers
✨ Purposeful motor development through consistent prompting
✨ Expression of thoughts, ideas, and feelings
✨ Growing independence as prompts fade with skill development

At Integrated Therapy Services, we’re proud to offer The Apple Group Connections: OG in 3D, a relationship-based reading and language program designed to support individuals with dyslexia and language-based learning differences.

This approach focuses on helping learners build meaningful connections between sounds, letters, and comprehension, rather than relying on rote memorization. When those connections strengthen, reading becomes more accessible and far less overwhelming.

Through this program, we work to support:

✨ Processing – helping the brain make sense of language more efficiently
✨ Foundation – strengthening core language and speech-sound clarity skills
✨Comprehension – supporting deeper understanding of what is read
✨ Confidence – empowering learners to see themselves as capable readers

Today we’re celebrating someone really special to our team 💛

While we’re sad to see Amanda step away from the clinic, we couldn’t be happier for her as she begins this new season, spending more time at home, loving on her grandbabies, and running her chicken farm (which honestly sounds like a dream 🐓).

Amanda has poured so much care, dedication, and heart into the families and kids she’s served here. Her impact will be felt long after her last day, and she will truly be missed.
