🔹 Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

🩹 Can Dry Needling Help a Hematoma? Yes — With Caution.

While dry needling isn’t used to treat hematomas directly, it can play a supportive role in managing the surrounding soft tissue and promoting local healing.

💡 How It Helps:

🔸 Improves local circulation – Dry needling can stimulate blood flow around the injured area, helping the body reabsorb the hematoma more efficiently.
🔸 Releases muscle tension – After a trauma or strain, muscles near the hematoma often tighten protectively. Needling can reduce guarding and restore movement.
🔸 Reduces pain and stiffness – By targeting trigger points around the area, patients often experience quicker relief and return to function.

🚫 Important Note:

We do not needle directly into a visible hematoma. Our approach targets the tissues around it, ensuring safe and effective recovery without worsening the bruise.

✅ Always let your PT know if you’ve had a recent injury, bruise, or are on blood thinners — we tailor every session to your body and needs.
