Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN): A New Look at Pain and Inflammation

Low Dose Naltrexone, or LDN, is gaining attention for its potential to help regulate the immune system and reduce inflammation in conditions like fibromyalgia, Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.

At very small doses (typically 0.5–4.5 mg), LDN temporarily blocks opioid receptors, encouraging the body to produce more natural endorphins, which may help control pain and immune response. It may also calm overactive immune cells that contribute to chronic inflammation.

Because standard naltrexone tablets come in much higher doses, LDN is prepared through compounding to meet each patient’s needs. With a low side effect profile and growing clinical interest, LDN offers a personalized option for managing chronic pain and autoimmune conditions.
