Ta**ra is part of many traditions. I recently had a back-and-forth with a man that did not understand that Ta**ra is not just one thing. Most people are familiar with Hindu Ta**ra or Neo-Ta**ra or new age Ta**ra. There are other traditions that are just as authentic and vital and informative.

The types of Ta**ra include

1-Indo-Tibetan Buddhism,
2-Chinese Esoteric Buddhism,
3-Japanese Shingon Buddhism
4-Nepalese Newar Buddhism.

This is a lighthearted post. I think we need a couple of chuckles in the world right now. When I have a session with a person or when I begin work with a person, the first things I do is discuss basic anatomy of the Yoni and Lingam. I do this because I think it’s important to understand how each organ functions. The more we know about the function the more we can learn to enjoy pleasure and intimacy. I hope you enjoy this post and please comment.

Last week was the Autumal Equinox. The nights are now growing longer. It is important to pay attention to the change of the seasons, to pay attention to the change of the light and dark patterns of the world.

Last week I had a session and I mentioned the moon because it was bright full moon the night before and It was beautiful. The man told me he had not seen the moon in 15 years.

If you were living on this planet and have not bothered to look at the moon that shows a disconnect from yourself and your body and the earth.

The type of ta**ra I teach and practice is grounded in the elements of wind, fire, water, earth, and spirit. The oldest and the most basic form of spiritual practice is that of elements. It is a practice left untouched by civilization in Tibet and completely obliterated by the introduction of Christianty into the north European cultural but Remnants of elemental practices can still be seem etched in the earth.

The spiritual practice of honoring the elements is ancient. It is based on what we can see, touch, feel, and smell. It is based on direct experiences. Even if you have a belief in a Divine presence that divinity is made known by the creation of the earth.

When we base our spiritual practice on the unseen and an the unknown, we give up our right to self determination. Life when built on feelings and beliefs that are not based in empirical reality creates emotional dissonance . We are forcing ourselves to believe in something that we have no facts to support. The pretense of belief in a supernatural being is hard to maintian. It requires weekly services, constant attention, and sacrifices of time and money.

If we are not connecting with the basic elements of the world we cannot connect with ourselves. We also cannot connect with others in a fully developed way. So much of our experience in life is building walls of reasoning and belief to protect ourselves from the actual reality of this earth. To protect ourselves from the short often strange experience of life. It doesn’t work. Then you imbalances we see in our world are created from this disconnect. Because we are not connecting with reality. And we aren’t accepting the reality of our position in this world or the universe.

If we cannot be in relationship with the natural world, we cannot be in relationship with ourselves, and we cannot be in relationship with other people because we are not grounded.

These are pictures of the very very short foliage season we have where I live. It lasts for about three or four days and then we have our first storm and all the leaves are blown off, so I have to take advantage of that brief opening and enjoy the color, the vibrancy the change of season and feel that in my body.

You can use a mantra that brings you a sense of peace and calm. It is possible to develop your own mantra from your own experiences that calms the central nervous system. I’ve given you a definition of mantra and also a mantra in the photographs that I use from a poem that I love.

Mantra comes from a Sanskrit word meaning a “sacred message or text, charm, spell, counsel.” The Indian spiritual leader Sri Sathya Baba said, “A pure thought from a pure heart is better than a mantra.” Meaning, a mantra is great and all, but really, pure intentions and genuine kindness mean more.

The foundation of Tibetan ta**ra is the practice of elemental spiritual techniques. Spiritual beliefs based on the elements is the oldest form of a practiced religion. It is totally grounded in the elements that make up our world is not grounded in some kind of pretend God or some kind of pretend group of gods, it is grounded in our earth and reality. The breath techniques the mantras the visualizations of Tibetan ta**ra connects with the elements and is meant to bring that energy that’s in the Earth and in the universe into our bodies for healing and better health and emotional and spiritual awakening. Here is a brief summary of the elements

“Tibetan elemental practices focus on the five elements of earth, water, fire, wind (air), and space( or spirit) to achieve physical, mental, and spiritual balance. Practices incorporate physical postures, breathwork, visualization, and sacred syllables (mantras) to connect with and balance each element within the body. These ancient traditions, with roots in both Bon and Buddhist traditions, also utilize the five elements in Tibetan medicine, astrology, and healing practices.
The Five Elements and Their Qualities

Earth:
Embodies stability, grounding, support, and strength.

Water:
Represents fluidity, ease, adaptability, creativity, and emotional flow.

Fire:
Signifies inner heat, vitality, enthusiasm, passion, and willpower.

Wind (Air):
Associated with movement, flexibility, communication, and liberation.

Space:
Connects to openness, confidence, strength, awareness, and connection to the spiritual realm.

One of the things I love about Tibetan Ta**ra is its connection with the elements and the natural world. I often see in Ta**ra a focus on just the physical function of intimacy. That's wonderful, and I love that myself, but it's not all Ta**ra has to offer. If we focus on one thing to the exclusion of others, we will be unbalanced in our lives. Elemental spirituality, religion, and practice are one of the most ancient forms of connecting with our world and our spiritual selves. Many people see this as pagan or frivolous.

However, Christianity has over-focused on subduing and dominating not only nature but also children and women. Christianity and patriarchy have created a great imbalance in our world. The only way we can regain that balance is by turning back to the natural world. We cannot regain balance, fairness, and righteousness through more technology or turning to AI, nor is it by turning to just one person and trying to get all our needs met by a romantic partner.

These things - romantic obsession and technology - do not produce happiness. Turning back to the cycles of the moon, the movements of the planets, the energy of fire, wind, and water are ways we can reclaim our world and reclaim ourselves. I use this artwork of the moon because it is a full moon. The peak fullness was last night, but it's still full and luminous in the night sky.

I would challenge you to go out and be in the moonlight, sit against a tree or sit on the ground, be with a partner or be by yourself, and sit in silence and breathe while you moon-gaze. You will experience a sense of peace and well-being, and even wonder.

🌙✨ August 15, 2025 – A Celestial Trio Over the Ocean

Tonight, the night sky offers a rare and breathtaking sight — the crescent Moon, Venus, and Jupiter gathered above the shimmering horizon. 🌌
Venus blazes as the brightest “evening star,” with Jupiter glowing softly above, while the Moon’s golden crescent casts a shimmering path across the ocean’s surface.

From ancient sailors who navigated by these lights to stargazers today, such alignments have always stirred awe and wonder. Take a moment, step outside, and look toward the twilight sky — the cosmos is putting on a show you won’t want to miss. 🌠

The green Tara meditation is quite long and complicated but it can begin by simply looking at the Green Tara with her outstretched hand, that welcomes you to enlightenment her legs ready to react. The Green Tara embodies enlightened activity and active compassion. You can visualize the Tara and invite her infinite compassion into your life.

A begining is visualizing the green Tara and repeating the mantra "Om tare tuttare ture soha"
