Gateway Counseling works primarily with those who qualify for Medicaid services. We also accept private pay, Blue Cross, and Medicare. Gateway Counseling, Inc offers a sliding scale discount program that is income based. Gateway counseling offers mental health services to adults in the Pocatello and surrounding areas. People who qualify for services would be those who have been diagnosed with, but not limited to, one or more of the following:
~Major Depressive Disorder
~Schizophrenia
~Schizoaffective
~Bipolar I or II
~Borderline Personality Disorder
~Delusional Disorder
~Psychotic Disorder NOS
~CBRS~
Community Based Rehabilitation can be described as consisting of five main areas of work:
(1) Psychiatric or symptom management. This includes skill training directly related to the client’s mental illness to improve community functioning and facilitate appropriate interpersonal behaviors. (2) Social including relationships, family, boundaries, communications & community integration. CBR workers assist the clients in gaining and utilizing communications skills for the client to be able to express himself coherently to others including other service providers. (3) Vocational and Educational specifically coping skills and motivation. (4) Basic Living Skills including the teaching of personal hygiene, balanced meals, individual safety, planning, and maintaining appropriate housing. CBR workers assist the client in gaining and utilizing skills necessary to function adaptively in home and community settings and attain or retain capability for independence. This includes helping the client learn personal hygiene and grooming, selecting and acquiring appropriate clothing, and other self-care skills needed for community integration. (5) Financial with include the development of budgets and utilizing skills necessary for managing personal finances, living arrangements, and daily home care duties.
~Case Management ~
The primary role of our Case Management is to link you with community resources. This can include assisting you with scheduling transportation, medical appointments, filling out paperwork for Medicaid or Social Security, housing, and energy assistance, and anything else that you see fit.
