Medicine from the Earth, Healing from the Heart
Barbara Worley, MS, is a Clinical Herbalist and owner of the New River Herbal Medicine practice.
I received a master’s degree in Therapeutic Herbalism as well as post-graduate certificate in Clinical Herbal Medicine from the Maryland University of Integrative Health, a leading institution in the field of health and wellness education.
Central to my professional approach to Herbalism are belief in the fundamental nature of food as medicine, the interconnectedness of body systems and health, and the innate ability of the body to heal itself given the right tools. I also believe that my role as practitioner is one of partnership with clients through a journey to greater health and body balance.
In practice I use herbal medicines to individually support each client in their journey by completing a comprehensive and holistic assessment, creating custom herbal formulations which are tailored specifically to the needs of the individual, and adjusting as necessary throughout the therapy. I draw from traditional wisdom as well as contemporary science to find the best herbs to fit each person to restore balance and optimize health.
