Did you know EmBodied has a huge lending library all over the office? This is just one of the main stacks you can find here. In total there are over 100 books scattered through out the office (and we're up to 16+ different faeries)

Did you know Dr. Emily is a crazy/avid reader? (She reads between 5-10 books a month!)

✨

One of the best ways to gain perspective and knowledge on a topic is to read a book about it. Emerge yourself in the stories and experiences of other people to learn about and embrace that their lives are ultimately different!

Keep your eyes here for a book of the month brought to you by Dr. Emily's favorite reading materials that she's been going through. From pelvic and women's health to fiction to body work to energy work to spirituality and so much more -we're always reading at EmBodied and can't wait to share our FAVORITES.

You can also find us for bookclub (coming soon) with Melissa Delizia (.acceptance) where we'll meet to discuss some of our personal favorites!

✨

The world of birth/ inclusion/ health is changing and one of our BEST avenues to learn and grow from each other is to *attempt* to step in to each other's shoes.

✨

PSA - All the lending library books (this shelf and all the shelves through out the office) are available to borrow/share/replace and love. Nothing like a good book chain.

All sessions at EmBodied have some element of energy work integrated in to your treatment protocol. This is because of Dr. Emily's personal practices and the ability to easefully and fluidly connect the inner world with the outer one.

BUT have you been looking for it to go a little bit further? EmBodied is now offering 2 hour treatment sessions - this means you get your full pelvic floor experience and then also get a full energy work/AAT session as well.

✨

You may be wondering, two hours?
Well, we though the same thing too UNTIL it came by as personal requests from *several* patients and we started to really listen. Through these longer avenues of patient care we get to really dive deep in to the sacral and womb space energy that is resting in the resistance of the pelvic floor.

These sessions are great for people who feel like they just don't connect with their bodies, for pelvic pain patients who needs a bit more time for release and relaxation, for those who come from far away and want to be seen for longer / less frequently.

✨

We're booking these treatments (and more) in August so if you're interested in diving in to what two hours of energy work and body balancing is like, give us a call or a text today!

The dreaded postpartum question of the century...

YES, this is super common - but did you know it's not normal?

Did you also know that some times it even happens when you *haven't* had children and that's also really common (but not normal)

✨

Because we (unless you're Dr. Emily in which case she'll talk about anything with anyone) as a society don't talk about bodily functions like this openly and regularly - sometimes we forget that although cumulatively we have had a lot happen to our bodies and in our logical brains we know we're okay to ask, we've hesitated because it just feels too... uncomfortable!

This is your PSA that if you leak with laughing/coughing/sneezing - it's a pressure system malfunction! This means that if you have one part of your system that's over (or under) contracting it can cause leakage/loss of urine!

AND NO THIS DOES NOT MEAN DO YOUR KEGELS - sometimes if your pelvic floor is "too tight" or the muscles are overly contracted you can have the same issues !

✨

This is your PSA to get a pelvic assessment by a pelvic floor physical therapist! We're highly trained to be able to help you figure out your specific issues, treat accordingly and not waste time with ridiculously complicated core exercises or the *wrong* information of over contracting your pelvic muscles.

You can make an appointment with Dr. Emily at EmBodied by calling or texting 908-783-4187 OR find someone local to you!

Can't wait to get you back in full working order!

If you're my patient you know I'm obsessed with getting everyone (and probably their partners, mothers, friends) to meditate - and it's SO much more than most people even really typically *think* as to why!

✨

Did you know mindfulness can help with your s*x drive?

That's right, feeling centered, calm and focused on yourself for 10-20 minutes a day can indeed increase your energy, lower your stress hormones (AKA CORTISOL) and in turn... turn you on?

✨

It may sound funny reading it like that but the reality is, most of us are so stressed out we can't even think about taking our pants off nonetheless trying to get our partner to engage in intimate acts with us.

Working on reducing your stress, enhancing your connection with yourself and your body and refocusing your energy can not only help to increase your libido but also give you the energy and stamina to be able to better create an environment in your mind to enhance your desire for intimacy and also your ability to achieve and have pleasure from the interaction.

✨

Want to know more about mindfulness and how it gets your embodied? Comment below! I'd love to hear from you!

Sometimes when setting goals/intentions/new years resolutions - we loose track of the small steps it takes to reach the larger goal.

During these wintery months, don't loose the motivation that the summer brings but "keep your eye on the prize"

With each new season, each new cycle comes the opportunity to show up consistently to reach your health and wellness goals. That's where EmBodied comes in.

✨

Whether it's energy work, taking a yoga class or just taking a nap. Sometimes small moves towards health make us see that slow and steady really does win the race.

Take some time this season to see where you can keep consistent. Don't make drastic changes in the cold and dark but instead give yourself grace and support as you make small steps towards to the next best thing.

✨

Consistency is key

Dr. Emily here - I've said it once and I'll say it again, I LOVE my office.

From the eclectic decor that's been gifted to me to the rugs and the plants that I get to surround myself with daily - this space is EVERYTHING I had hoped it to be.

✨

When designing EmBodied - I wanted to make a space I would have been comfortable going to when I was 16 and first complaining of pelvic pain symptoms.

EmBodied is a space where a person could come and learn about energy work, yoga and their body - to be able to integrate it all and create full healing and compassion.

✨

At EmBodied you can heal, move and flow at your own pace - learn what's best for you and be given all the tools you need to continue to heal and stay well through out your life time.

This is not not a one stop shop, instead it's more of a new best friend waiting to hold your hand as you learn about your body, why and how certain things are happen and how to get support along the way.

Come and give us a visit - come for a session with me, learn about energy work or drop in for a class with some of my friends!

You can reach us via call or text at 908-783-4187 anytime.

Can't wait to meet you soon.

There's so much more to health and wellness than just physical form, but it's also so much less than that too.

Bear with me now, but when's the last time you put your hands on your body?
On your stomach?
Your chest?

✨

For many, we can't even think of the last time we've let our stomachs relax and breath in to them, none the less allowed ourselves to touch our softened belly!

✨

This is a call to action - take the next five minutes (set a timer so you don't keep checking your phone, and if you're making a transition to a less phone involved life I got a GREAT timer online for < $5) and put one hand on your belly, one hand on the chest and just breath.

Breath the air in to your stomach first, soften the tissue/muscle/energy there - Then fill the chest. See how this feels.

After 5 minutes, take note - where are your thoughts, how have you been feeling? What patterns can you recognize in your body?

✨

Healing involved exploring the body - and doing the things it needs vs what our mind wants.

Take a moment and settle in to this new form of being, starting here.
