Christmas in July at !
Stories, word games, a sing along, cranberry and frozen beverages, drumming to Jingle Bells….a special meal- AND Christmas cookies!
Our residents even received a thoughtful gift- a walker bag from a friend of our home with sewing skills that rival Mrs. Claus’s.

Off to Italy as we continue our armchair travel to some beautiful places in the world!
Close- up views of the Sistine Chapel, wine tasting “in Tuscany,” and a gondola ride on Venice’s Grand Canal- just a few highlights of our latest adventure!

Today’s Armchair Travel adventure took us to Sweden…
Swedish meatballs and a traditional fruit soup were served. Visits were made to sites in Stockholm and the Lapland area as well as a Viking village and a year- round ice hotel (brrrr). Everyone casted their poles to net some Swedish Fish, then ended the excursion by watching some folk dancers at a Midsommer Festival!

Armchair travel to France today!
Sites in Paris, a visit to the Alps and the beaches of Normandy… along with a fruit pastry and champagne!
We even learned several French words and phrases.

The rainy, windy weather didn’t keep us down! Our picnic was moved into the activity room, complete with decorations and ANTs (made from cardboard egg cartons).
After enjoying fried chicken, macaroni salad, watermelon and cookies, the group had an I Spy scavenger hunt, reminisced, and packed an alphabetical picnic basket.
The afternoon included living room co****le and bocce games, too!
We think we’ll be doing this again!

A wonderful young lady came to this week. Everyone decorated a pot and got some help to plant some flowers. We appreciate the visit and will be enjoying the flowers for weeks to come. 🌺🍀

Hooray- another travel season for our 4-H Around the Globe!
New travelers got their passport photos taken and everyone received a new sticker in their (unofficial) document.
Off we went to England to tour Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London.
After an afternoon “cuppa” and homemade scones, we visited other wondrous sites in the UK.
Our big finish, with lots of laughs, was a British phrase quiz.

A beautiful day for our dear birthday lady! Jane Rostan celebrated her 100th birthday with a special dinner and fun music at home. Her cake was presented by Mayor Sicafuse and she was interviewed by 27 news.
Later, Poland police escorted Jane ( through the rain!) to her son’s house for an amazing gala.
What a great honor it is to know Jane and to be a part of this incredible day!
