Here’s a sneak peek into our new clinic!

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to create a space that allows us to better serve our patients while continuing to provide the high-quality, one-on-one care that we pride ourselves on.

Whether you’re dealing with an injury, recovering from surgery, trying to get back to the gym or sport, or simply want to stop by and check out the new facility — we’d love to see you.

📞 330-227-4125

We are currently accepting new patients and are in-network with a variety of insurance carriers (visit our website for the full-list), while also offering affordable self-pay options.

We also want to sincerely thank everyone who supported us throughout our first two years in a much smaller space. Your trust and support helped make this growth possible, and we’re excited to continue helping our community and welcoming many new faces along the way.

Here are a few preview photos of the new clinic… but we can’t give everything away just yet 👀

Your “core” is more than just abs.

The core acts as the foundation for movement — helping transfer force between the upper and lower body while providing stability during lifting, running, cutting, and rotational movements.

When core strength, endurance, or coordination is lacking, the body may compensate elsewhere. Over time, this can contribute to excessive stress on areas like the low back, hips, knees, or shoulders.

That doesn’t mean a “weak core” automatically causes injury — but improving core control and overall strength can help improve movement efficiency, load tolerance, and athletic performance.

A strong core isn’t about six-pack abs.
It’s about creating a body that moves well, transfers force efficiently, and handles physical demands more effectively.

Deadlifts aren’t the problem—misunderstanding them is.

From a physical therapy perspective, the deadlift is one of the most functional movements we have. It’s a hip hinge—the same pattern you use every day when you pick something up off the ground.

Your spine isn’t fragile. It’s designed to handle load, adapt, and get stronger over time. Avoiding movements like deadlifts doesn’t protect you—it often just leaves you underprepared for real-life demands.

Is technique important? Of course. But there’s no single “perfect” form. Everyone moves a little differently based on their anatomy. What matters more is:
✔️ Appropriate load
✔️ Gradual progression
✔️ Tolerance to the movement

In rehab, we use deadlifts to:
• Build posterior chain strength
• Improve resilience to load
• Help people return to sport and daily activity
• Reduce fear around movement

Most injuries don’t come from the exercise—they come from doing too much, too soon, without proper progression.

The better question isn’t “Are deadlifts bad?”
It’s: Are you prepared for the load you’re asking your body to handle?

If you or someone you know is battling an injury, don’t hesitate to reach out so we can guide you back to an active lifestyle. 330-227-4125

Taking care of your body isn’t just something you do after pain shows up—it’s what keeps you doing what you love without setbacks.

Whether you’re training, competing, or just trying to stay active, the small things matter:
✔️ Consistent mobility
✔️ Smart strength work
✔️ Listening to early warning signs

Injury prevention isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing the right things, at the right time.

If something feels off, don’t wait until it sidelines you. Address it early and keep moving forward.

“Pinched nerve” ≠ just something you have to live with.

A pinched nerve (radiculopathy) happens when surrounding tissues put pressure on a nerve, disrupting how signals travel through your body. That’s why you may feel pain, tingling, numbness, or even weakness—whether it’s in your neck, back, or down your arm/leg.

The good news: you don’t have to ignore it or wait it out.

At our clinic, we focus on:
- Identifying the true source of the compression
- Reducing nerve irritation and inflammation
- Restoring mobility and strength
- Preventing it from coming back

Every plan is tailored—whether your symptoms started from lifting, sports, work, or just daily life.

If you’re dealing with persistent pain, numbness, or “shooting” symptoms, it’s worth getting it checked out early.

Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSIs) are one of the most common—and preventable—causes of pain we see in the clinic.

They develop when the same movement pattern is repeated over time with poor mechanics, inadequate recovery, or excessive load. This can lead to irritation of muscles, tendons, and joints, eventually progressing to chronic pain or decreased performance.

Common examples include:
• Lifting with improper form
• Poor posture during daily activities
• Repetitive sports or gym movements without proper technique

The key isn’t to stop moving—it’s to move better.

At Costa Rehab & Wellness, we focus on:
✔️ Identifying faulty movement patterns
✔️ Improving strength and mobility
✔️ Teaching proper mechanics to prevent recurrence

If you’re dealing with nagging pain that “keeps coming back,” it may not be bad luck—it may be a movement issue.

Address the cause, not just the symptoms.

150 minutes per week might not sound like much—but it’s one of the most powerful things you can do for your body. That’s just about 20 minutes/day, and it’s been shown to reduce your risk of all-cause mortality, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, certain cancers, and type 2 diabetes, while also lowering your risk of falls. On top of that, consistent movement improves your mental health, sharpens cognitive function, enhances sleep quality, and helps manage body fat and overall metabolic health.

This isn’t about going all-in overnight—it’s about building consistency with movement that fits your life. Walking, lifting, cycling, sports—it all counts.

And if pain, injury, or uncertainty is holding you back, that’s where physical therapy comes in. Our job isn’t just to treat injuries—it’s to help you move better, stay active, and actually reach that 150-minute mark safely and confidently.

We’ve got your back. Give us a call if you need guidance on the road to a healthier lifestyle.

Jiu Jitsu athletes put a unique level of stress on their neck—whether it’s from defending chokes, controlling position, or constant grappling exchanges.

Over time, this can lead to:
• Neck pain and stiffness
• Reduced mobility
• Increased risk of strains or nerve-related symptoms

The key isn’t just “pushing through it”—it’s building neck strength, control, and resilience while addressing any underlying mobility or stability limitations.

A strong, well-conditioned neck doesn’t just reduce pain—it can also improve performance and durability on the mats.

If you or someone you know are a wrestler, BJJ athlete, or train MMA or boxing, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We can help you. 330-227-4125.🥊

Is Normatec actually helpful?

Compression therapy like Normatec is designed to improve circulation, reduce muscle soreness, and support recovery—especially after intense workouts, long runs, or physically demanding days.

By using sequential pneumatic compression, it helps move fluid through the legs, which can:
• Decrease post-activity soreness
• Reduce feelings of heaviness or fatigue
• Promote recovery between training sessions

While it’s not a replacement for proper strength training and rehab, it can be a useful tool to support recovery and keep you moving consistently.

If you’re interested in Normatec, take advantage of our combination session, where you receive infrared red light therapy plus Normatec pneumatic compression to assist with post-activity soreness and promote circulation.
