09/18/2025

See you Meigs County District Public Library at 6pm for this awesome FREE event!

In this 90-minute experience, Michelle Kucera-Jewell will guide us through the basics of how sound and vibration affect the body—from calming the nervous system to helping us feel more present and grounded. She’ll share insights from her work with sound healing and how different instruments create different effects in the body.

Keely Lechler of Foothills Vitality will introduce the OHM Reader—a tool that helps us explore how the body responds to sound by tracking shifts in the electrical system of the body. You’ll get to see a live demonstration and learn about the surprising ways sound can support balance and ease in our everyday lives.

After the talk, we’ll transition into a guided sound healing session, allowing your body to experience the benefits of vibration firsthand through crystal bowls, tuning forks, and other soothing instruments.

Free and open to all. No experience needed—just come as you are.

Bring a yoga mat, blankets, and anything you need to be comfy.

To everyone who has benefited from the 3rd season of Yoga on the River, let's give a big shout-out to our amazing partners in healing. These businesses showed up as generous sponsors, showing that they believe in this community and are committed to healing and wellness. They know that a healthy community is a thriving community. And wow, is this community thriving. Thanks to their support, this weekly movement practice was free to anyone who wanted to attend and we had the biggest turnout yet. The numbers are growing, as are the friendships and the impact! Thank you so so very much for making this possible. And to our amazing teachers, your guidance, wisdom and deep commitment to LIVING your practice in this community is felt. To each of our students... you are why we are here. Thank you for coming to your mat, being in your practice and then taking what you learn off of your mat and into the world. May we all be touched by the ripple....

With Deep Gratitude: Thank You to Our 2025 Yoga on the River Sponsors

As the sun sets on another Yoga on the River - Pomeroy season, we are filled with so much gratitude—for this practice, this place, and this community. What started as a simple riverside offering has become a powerful weekly tradition rooted in wellness, connection, and presence.

This summer, thanks to the generosity of our local businesses, we were once again able to keep every class free and open to all. These sponsorships made it possible for people of all ages and backgrounds to gather in movement, breath, and belonging.

To each of our 2025 sponsors—thank you for believing in this. Thank you for showing up for our community in such a meaningful way.

Please help us celebrate the local businesses that made this season possible:

* River Roasters Coffee Co.
* Vitality Aesthetics & Wellness

* The Mindful Neuro
* COURT GRILL
* Farmers Bank
* Gallery 14
* Clark’s Jewelry Store
* Precision Automotive
* Cross Town Service Center
* Swisher & Lohse Pharmacy
* Meigs County Farmers' Market

Each of you is part of what makes this offering possible—and powerful. From first-timers to returning regulars, dozens of people showed up every week to breathe, stretch, laugh, and come back to themselves. And that kind of space matters more than ever.

And, to the teachers who showed up every week to share your wisdom, teachings and practice. Thank you.

We are currently dreaming into what’s next. Thanks to your feedback and the incredible support of our local library, we’ll be continuing into fall, winter, and spring with monthly indoor classes at the Meigs County District Public LibraryMeigs County Library. The community that has been built, through Yoga on the River, over the last 3 summers is pretty remarkable! Friendships have been built, pain has been reduced, mobility has increased and peace of mind has been experienced. Everyone was extra sad that the summer season ended, and we don't want this momentum to stop! We believe in the power of community, the people of Meigs County and the surrounding areas and the healing power of movement and mindfulness. So, we are creating more opportunities to practice together. Please spread the word. Share with your friends, business owners, and community leaders who may want to be a partner in healing! Let's make wellness accessible for all.

We Heard You — And We’re Keeping Yoga on the River - Pomeroy Going Year-Round!

Thanks to your enthusiastic feedback and growing attendance, we’re excited to share that Yoga on the River will continue through fall, winter, and spring—hosted indoors at the Meigs County District Public Library in Pomeroy.

We’re now inviting local businesses to sponsor off-season sessions, helping us keep these community practices free and accessible to all throughout the year.

Each sponsored class makes space for healing, connection, and movement—right when our community needs it most.

🌿 Classes will be offered 1–2 times a month from October through June, depending on the number of sponsors we receive.

🕕 Off-season practices will be held indoors at the spacious and welcoming Meigs County Library.

💛 Sponsorship includes social media recognition, in-class shoutouts, and the opportunity to support wellness in our region.

We’re looking for partners in healing—businesses, organizations and/or individuals who believe in the power of movement, community, and showing up for one another.

If that’s you, reach out to Michelle at cocreate@thenookontheoyo.com to reserve your spot as a sponsor.

Let’s keep this beautiful offering alive through every season.

Last night, we gathered for our final Wednesday night Yoga on the River of the season. The river shimmered, the air stilled, and the circle of hearts felt wide and open.

We began our practice with a reading from Julia Cameron’s Blessings: Prayers and Declarations for a Heartful Life—a call to remember that we are participants in shaping the world, not passive observers. It was an invitation to take seriously the impact of our presence, our practice, and our choices:

"We are trustworthy stewards of our world. The world is a work in progress. We are the architects of a better world. In our hearts, we hold compassion, invention, clarity, and hope. We know right action. We know wisdom. We know divine intent. The world is safe in our keeping. We are loving. We are wise. We are good. We can change our world for the better. We can bring our best to the world. The whole world lies within each of us. Our every thought and act touch all. I am powerful. We are powerful. As I make my inner world gentle, harmonious, and joyful, I bring those qualities to the world which all of us share. I cherish the world which we share. I bless the world and those I share it with."

With this as our ground, I invited each person to set an intention—something that felt alive and aligned with this deeper teaching of yoga. Not just yoga as movement, but yoga as yuj—to yoke, to unite. To bring into union the body and the breath. The self and the other. The inner world and the shared world. This is the heart of the practice.

We explored what it means for our asana to be more than physical exercise—for it to become a prayer in motion, an embodied remembrance that we are not separate from the world around us, but intimately, inextricably woven into it.

In each pose, we asked:
✨ Can I stay present with what is real?
✨ Can I respond with compassion, both to myself and others?
✨ Can I move not just for myself, but with the world?

And as twilight wrapped around us and the energy softened into stillness, we ended by turning inward—toward the heart, the inner guide. We closed with another reading from Julia Cameron, a poetic reflection on the wisdom and courage of the human heart:

"My heart is wise and my heart is a wise and faithful guide. I bless the wisdom of my loving heart. Love is a form of listening. I listen with a loving heart. I listen to the love within my heart and I hear the love in the hearts of others. My heart guides me tenderly and truly. I find ways through the wilderness. My heart finds paths through the desert. My heart is valiant and wise. My heart senses the truth and offers compassion in times of conflict. My heart is patient. My heart has humility. It is fully human and fully divine. As I listen to my heart I am able to love humanly with divine wisdom. I am wiser than I know, kinder than I believe. I am loving and compassionate to others and myself. My heart holds the world in tender awe."

This is what yoga asks of us—not just flexibility or strength, but relationship.

With ourselves. With others. With the world.

Thank you to every soul who showed up this summer. For listening. For moving. For remembering.

May you continue to walk this path of unity—with a heart full of awe and a body rooted in presence.

💛 Special thanks to Swisher & Lohse Pharmacy for sponsoring our closing weeknight session and supporting the magic of this riverfront community practice.

We’re thrilled to share that this week’s Yoga on the River is sponsored by the creative hearts behind Gallery 14 located just up the hill on Court Street in downtown Pomeroy.

Gallery 14 is more than a storefront. It’s a vibrant meeting place for artistry and restoration, where custom furniture, curated one-of-a-kind goods, and community art experiences come together under one roof. Devan, Alix and all the artists in Gallery 14 have built something truly special—a place that celebrates transformation, sustainability, and the creative spark that lives in all of us.

We’re so grateful for their support of this week’s class and for what they bring to our town every day.

This Wednesday at 6:30 PM, we’ll gather in the park by River Roasters Coffee Co.(not on the riverfront this week) and flow to a deep house set shared by DJ Laura. Come ready to move, connect, and get inspired.

Always free. Always community.
See you there.
