🚶‍♂️💨 Nyack Public Schools March Forward 2026!

Valley Cottage Elementary is full of energy as everyone from Pre-K through Grade 5 took part in the 15th Annual March Forward, in partnership with Rockland County.

The hallways were transformed with 13 exciting Brain Break Activity Stations designed to get everyone moving and grooving. Students were spinning the Wheel of Exercises, trying Yoga, Bowling, Racketball, Hopscotch, Basketball and so much more! 🧘‍♀️🎳🎯

Bowling and Hopscotch continue to be crowd favorites.
This initiative goes beyond fitness, it’s about supporting mental and physical well-being. Quick bursts of movement help relieve stress, boost focus, spark creativity and build teamwork and problem-solving skills. When students put their classrooms in motion, learning becomes more engaging and fun.

One student participant shared: “I love March Forward! I get to move and have fun with my friends — it just makes me feel ready to learn.” 💥

Let’s keep moving and learning this spring!

🥗 This National Nutrition Month, we’re focusing on nutrition for people with disabilities, because everyone deserves the power to thrive.

Why it matters:
People with disabilities may need extra support with swallowing, digestion, hydration, or choosing the right foods. Good nutrition boosts energy, muscle strength, brain health, and overall well-being.

Nutrition tips:
🥤 Drink water & eat fiber – Helps with digestion and energy
🐟 Add healthy fats & protein – Fish, beans, and nuts support muscles and the brain
🍠 Adjust food textures – Soft, chopped, or pureed foods make eating easier
🌈 Eat colorful foods – Fruits, veggies, and whole grains give key nutrients
