San Antonio Gardens is a single site, non-profit Life Care retirement community of almost 500 residents. Our residents' enthusiasm for new experiences energizes the campus with a sense of vitality and well-being. Without the worry of future health care needs and catastrophic costs, or the responsibilities of homeownership, Gardens' residents can relish their independence and enjoy all the pleasures and comforts of home with more time for the pursuits that matter most to them and the assurance they will receive care, should they need it, for the rest of their lives. While the majority of our residents live independently, we also offer assisted living, memory care, high acuity assisted living, and skilled nursing care on-site.

Beyond the Mission Monday

Meet Christina Fragoso, our Administrative Assistant, whose love for culture and community shines far beyond her role at the Gardens.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, she grew up around horses as the daughter of a cowboy and horse trainer. At just four years old, she was captivated by an Escaramuza Charra performance at a Mexican rodeo, a moment that sparked a lifelong passion for honoring cultural traditions.

That passion grew into a calling. In 2017, Christina founded Charra International, which helped connect equestrian communities across more than 30 countries and engaged over 600 Ambassadors worldwide. Through her work with Charra International de las Americas, she continues to celebrate Escaramuza Charra, an equestrian tradition that tells powerful stories of history, strength, and heritage through beautiful performances.

We are proud to have Christina as part of our community and grateful for the heart and purpose she brings to everything she does.
