What does a session look like? Depends on your goals. Here Brian and Nate are in straight leg to lengthen his posterior chain paired with postural strengthening exercises. Followed by load bearing to maintain bone density and challenge his hip stability when standing using a red cord and bungee.

It wasn’t supposed to happen like this.

At 17 years old, Hal Hargrave Jr. experienced a life-altering spinal cord injury that changed everything in an instant. What followed wasn’t just a fight to recover… it was a fight to redefine what recovery even meant.

In a system that often focuses on limitations, Hal chose to chase possibility.

What started as one person’s refusal to accept “this is as good as it gets” became something far greater… a movement, a mission, a place where hope meets action.

That’s how The Perfect Step was born.

Not just as a facility, but as a belief:
That recovery doesn’t stop.
That progress is always possible.
That every individual deserves the chance to rewrite their story.

This is where it all began.

From adaptive sports to unforgettable moments of connection, this event brought together an incredible group of individuals, families, and organizations united by one purpose. Creating opportunity for the mobility challenged community.
