A lot peers or “professionals” might suggest an alternative approach to away from addiction or substances.
But these alternatives can actually be just as dangerous as using.
❌Kratom / Kava – Marketed as “natural highs,” but can be addictive and harmful to the liver or nervous system.
❌Delta-8 – Hemp/synthetic products are unregulated, often mislabeled, and can be stronger (and riskier) than expected.
❌ Most non-alcoholic beer contain alcohol but the taste, smell, and ritual can be a relapse trigger. For many in recovery, it keeps the “alcohol mindset” alive and makes it easier to slip back into drinking.
❌Prescription Misuse – Taking meds like Adderall, Xanax, or painkillers outside of medical guidance can quickly lead to dependence.
❌Nicotine / Va**ng – Highly addictive and often used as an stress-coping crutch; damages lungs, heart, and keeps the cycle of dependency alive.
❌Excessive Caffeine – Chasing the buzz with high doses of caffeine can cause heart problems, panic attacks, and crashes.
