We’re proud to share a new partnership that feels deeply Scanlan’s. 🌿

Here, every detail of our space is intentional and designed to feel warm, inviting, and comforting the moment you walk through our doors. The artwork that fills our walls reflects that same philosophy, drawing heavily from nature, and especially trees. They are a reminder of strength, growth, and the importance of remembering where we come from.

So when Dennis Maida Photography approached us about showcasing work from the artists he represents through The Covert Collection Photo Gallery , the answer was an easy and enthusiastic yes.

In our newly offered lounge space, Dennis’ piece Where We Are Held, along with several other striking fine art prints, now grace our walls. This art is adding depth, meaning, and beauty to a space designed for reflection and connection.

If a piece speaks to you as much as it does to us, simply scan the QR code displayed nearby to be taken directly to Dennis’ website, where you can learn more about his work and the talented local artists he proudly represents.

We’re honored to support local artists and to surround our families with art that feels grounded, thoughtful, and full of quiet strength.

Remembrance doesn’t have to be quiet or somber. We believe in honoring lives with warmth, light, and even laughter because so many of our loved ones would have wanted it that way. A heartfelt tribute can look like music, stories, a favorite snack, and the joy of a life well-lived.

Grief can feel so isolating. But one of the things we’ve learned at Scanlan’s is that when people come together in shared loss, something softens and heals.

That’s the idea behind our monthly Grief Support Tea. We wanted to create a space where stories are shared, tears are okay, and even a small sense of comfort can begin to take root.

At Scanlan’s, we’ve spent generations walking alongside families in our community through all the parts of grief - the heavy days, the confusing ones, and even the unexpected moments of a happy memory. In working together with experts, we’ve come to see that grief support groups can bring a type of comfort you just can’t find anywhere else.

At Scanlan’s, we help individuals and families prepare for the end of life - not just practically, but emotionally and spiritually too. We hold pre-planning seminars throughout the year and meet one-on-one to help people explore their end of life options. One question that comes up during our discussions is, “Can I plan and pay for my cremation ahead of time?”

And the answer is yes, you can. For many people, this kind of advance planning brings peace of mind - both for themselves and for the loved ones they’ll eventually leave behind. Read our latest blog for what to know about planning this end of life decision ahead of time.
