Experience in the optometry field is preferred, but not required. Technician will be adequately trained to interact confidently and effectively with our patients and shall be able to accurately administer any testing that is required for patient encounters after their training. Applicant must be friendly, engaging, dependable, and empathetic.
This employee is able to handle a wide range of duties while using equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with our doctors.
Responsibilities include:
•Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter-- in person or via phone.
•Initial work up of patients such as gathering chief complaints, accurately collect and document ocular and past family history.
•Measuring visual acuities and intraocular pressure.
•Diagnostic testing.
•Coordinate patient flow.
•Cleaning and maintaining opthalmic equipment.
•Perform other clinical duties as needed to optimize patient flow.
•Assist in other areas as needed.
