Imagine, you’ve just returned home from the hospital after giving birth. You’re exhausted, breasts engorged, ni***es sore, your baby hasn’t stopped crying, and neither have you. You did so much to prepare, but you feel like nothing is going as planned. You need breastfeeding help, but the idea of getting your new baby and yourself dressed and ready and out the door is….daunting.
What if I told you, you don’t have to leave home to get the breastfeeding help you need? It’s true! You can receive expert lactation care from the comfort of your own couch. And it’s my mission to bring it to you! My name is Rachel McGill and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant based out of Ponca, Nebraska. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant I provide and uphold the gold standard for lactation care. As an IBC Lactation Consultant, I meet with families in their own homes (within a 60 mile radius). I get to know my clients, their unique experiences, and tailor a plan to meet their individual goals. I am able to work within their environment and empower them to make informed decisions, build confidence, and find joy in the process.
If there’s anything I’ve learned from working as a labor and delivery nurse for over a decade, it’s that each individual breastfeeding experience is unique. What works for one mom, may not be right for another. I am here to help you along the path, in whichever way works best for you.
Many insurance providers are now covering up to 6 consultations with a lactation consultant. This means you could schedule a prenatal visit to be better prepared when baby is born, another to get off to a good start and address any concerns you have starting out, and four additional visits to use should you face challenges or just get extra support and reassurance along the way.
