Independence Death Investigation Ruled a Homicide
INDEPENDENCE (January 28, 2025)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) needs the public’s assistance in its investigation of a murder in the Independence area from last week.
Around Noon on Thursday, January 23, a call came in for an unresponsive person at a home in the 53000 block of Crossover Road. Deputies arrived to find 30-year-old David Parnell, Jr. dead in a bedroom.
An autopsy conducted later confirmed Parnell’s death as a homicide.
TPSO Criminal Investigations detectives are actively working this investigation, but could use the public’s help especially to determine any motive or suspects.
