A question we sometimes get from patients is why we incorporate cognitive screenings as part of our hearing evaluations here at First Coast Audiology? Well, here's the scoop!

🔹As part of a national effort to do early screening for cognitive impairment, we are leading the way by screening in our hearing evaluations.

🔹Hearing loss is the number 1 modifiable risk factor for dementia.

🔹Hearing loss is associated with accelerated cognitive decline and incident cognitive impairment in older adults.

🔹Treating hearing loss with hearing aids may positively impact cognitive decline and may improve quality of life over time.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all that donated to our food and personal care items drive for Pie In the Sky! Amber dropped off the donations last week and their team of staff and volunteers were so very welcoming and happy to have received our items! They were busy packing bags of food donations. Volunteer drivers deliver the bags right to the senior's home allowing them to do a well check at the same time. Many of these seniors are unable to get to a food bank or grocery store. Check out Pie In The Sky's Mission:

​We believe the fight against senior hunger is one of the greatest struggles being faced in our community today. Seniors remain hungry on a daily basis due to lack of access to food and resources. We believe this is unacceptable. We believe that together, we can do more.
