That eyeliner line matters more than you think

When eyeliner is applied directly along the inner lash line (the waterline), it can block the openings of your meibomian glands—the tiny oil glands along your eyelids that keep your tears stable.

These glands produce the oil layer of your tear film, which: • Prevents tears from evaporating too quickly
• Keeps vision clear and comfortable
• Protects the surface of your eye

When blocked by makeup, debris, or buildup:
❌ Oil flow decreases
❌ Tears evaporate faster
❌ Dry eye symptoms worsen (burning, irritation, fluctuating vision)

What you can do:
✔️ Apply eyeliner just outside the lash line (not on the waterline)
✔️ Remove makeup thoroughly every night
✔️ Use lid hygiene (like ocusoft eyelid scrubs)
✔️ Consider regular warm compresses to keep glands flowing
